Found June 20, 2012 on The Colts Authority:
Yesterday, the Colts cut QB David Legree and signed RB Mewelde Moore. Today, the Colts announced the release of another UDFA quarterback, Trevor Vittatoe. This leaves the Colts with Andrew Luck, Drew Stanton, and Chandler Harnish at the quarterback position. The Colts will likely carry three quarterbacks into the season, since they no longer have ironman Peyton Manning at the helm. It was widely assumed that Vittatoe and Legree would get cut before the season, and likely before training camp, with the veteran Stanton on the roster and the Colts using a draft choice on Harnish. However, with Luck in school and Harnish injured, the Colts needed arms for OTAs and mini-camp. The Colts have yet to sign anybody to fill the open roster spot, and will likely be looking for cheap, low risk veteran free agents to fill out the 90 man roster.

Andrew Luck Still Waiting for Contract From Colts

Before the new collective bargaining agreement put in place after the lockout ended last year, you would usually see the top pick in the draft sign his deal and then we would work our way down after the market had been set. But with the new deal in place, we’re seeing that things are going to be quite different. 17 of the first 32 picks in the draft have come to terms or signed...

Luck not worried about unsettled contract

Andrew Luck is keeping his focus on football. He'll let others worry about his new contract. The No. 1 overall draft pick says that even though he cannot attend training camp until he signs a deal, he is not worried about the lack of one becoming an impediment for reporting to training camp. The Colts report to Anderson University, an NCAA Division III school about 30 miles...

Out with the old and in with the new is the strategy with the rebuilding Colts (2006 Super Bowl win is a distant memory). First ballot hall of fame QB Peyton Manning will be under center in Denver (joined by former colt TE Jacob Tamme), TE Dallas Clark is in Tampa and WR Pierre Garcon got a monster contract from Washington. First overall pick Andrew Luck will have his Stanford security...

Arians will play key role in Luck's improvement

INDIANAPOLIS -- Bruce Arians, the Indianapolis Colts' new offensive coordinator, is certainly no stranger when it comes to tutoring and developing young, highly talented young quarterbacks. Arians was the Colts' quarterbacks coach in 1998 when the team drafted eventual franchise icon Peyton Manning with the first overall pick of the National Football League draft. He was...

Colts sign QB Andrew Luck

The Indianapolis Colts have signed No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck. The quarterback's agent and uncle, Will Wilson, confirmed Thursday that the deal had been completed. Terms were not immediately released. Colts owner Jim Irsay told reporters in late April he expected Luck's deal would be almost identical to the four-year, $22 million contract last year's top pick, Cam...

Winning Over a City and Growing a Fanbase, Part II

This series will take a look at the ever growing perception of the exaggerated "problem" of Colts' fanhood. Specifically that the Colts' fan base is fairweather and weak when compared to similar markets such as Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and Kansas City. While I find the outcry over the slightly lower rate of season ticket renewals to be very exagerrated (and way offbase...

Former Steelers RB Mewelde Moore Signs With Indianapolis Colts

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Mewelde Moore is no longer unemployed as Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced a short time ago on Twitter that the Colts had signed the free agent running back. Moore, who will turn 30 next month, will now be reunited with former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians in Indianapolis. Moore spent four seasons in Pittsburgh after...

Former Steeler Moore joins Arians in Indy

Former Pittsburgh Steeler Mewelde Moore signed with the Indianapolis Colts today. The signing reunites Moore with former Steelers’ offensive coordinator Bruce Arians who now has the same position with Indy. While never a game-changer, Moore did an excellent job in Pittsburgh in his role as a third down specialist. With Baron Batch expected back from his ACL injury and the addition...
