With the crazy, six-team bye week in the rearview mirror, the NFL returns to semi-normalcy in Week 8 with Baltimore, Cincinnati, Houston and Buffalo the only teams on bye. This week might be one of the most important for the waiver wire after the Maurice Jones-Drew injury and the backfield picture in Arizona getting a little clearer. At this point in the season, now is the time to blow that top waiver pick or spend your FAAB budget, especially if your team is 3-4 or worse. QUARTERBACK Jay Cutler, CHI - Cutler was dropped in many leagues after posting back-to-back games earlier this season with less than 200 yards passing. Heading into Monday night's tilt, Cutler had put together consecutive games of at least 275 passing yards and two touchdowns. Cutler has a nice matchup this week, welcoming the Carolina Panthers to the Windy City. The Panthers rank 22nd in the league with 7.5 YPA allowed, which means Brandon Marshall should be in for a big game as well. RUNNING BACK Ras...

Was Ndamukong Suh’s hit on Jay Cutler a dirty play?

There is no debating that the Chicago Bears thoroughly dominated the Detroit Lions on Monday night.  Even though the Chicago Bears only won by six points, anyone who watched the game would agree that it felt more like a 30 point blowout than a game decided by less than a touchdown.  Either way, the Chicago Bears won the game, but not without Jay Cutler suffering bruised ribs after...

Jay Cutler returns from locker room

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler returned in the second half after sustaining bruised ribs in the second quarter. Cutler was taken into the locker room before halftime to have his ribs evaluated. Cutler, who was driven into the ground by Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, was tended to for minutes by team trainers. He returned to action shortly after the hit, but was escorted...

Maurice Jones-Drew Out Multiple Games

According to a report on ESPN.com, Maurice Jones-Drew does not have the dreaded Lisfranc injury to his foot, however, the veteran tailback does have a sprained foot and will likely miss multiple games. MJD sustained the injury on the first drive of the game against the Raiders last week, and was carted to the locker room for further tests and was seen later in a walking boot. Jones...

Warren Moon: Cam Newton criticism has to do with race

Warren Moon does not feel as though Cam Newton is being treated with the respect he deserves. The Carolina Panthers are off to a disappointing 1-5 start this season, and Newton has not handled it well. The rough start hit its low point for Newton personally when he gave an overly dramatic postgame press conference after losing to the Cowboys last Sunday, during which he called a...

Suh annihilates Cutler with hard sack

Hey, at least Ndamukong Suh didn’t stomp on Jay Cutler after sacking him during Monday Night Football between the Bears and Lions. Cutler returned to the game, but had to go to the locker room early during halftime for rib evaluation.

Bears' Cutler: Lions' Suh isn't dirty

Marshall calls out Suh on Twitter

Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall took to Twitter following the game Monday night to call out Lions defensive lineman Ndomukong Suh for his sack of Jay Cutler.

Maurice Jones-Drew does not have Lisfranc injury

According to Adam Schefter, Maurice Jones-Drew will not be sidelined for the rest of the season, as the running back does not have the dreaded Lisfranc injury that would have required surgery, putting him on the bench for the remainder of the season. Jones-Drew, who won the rushing title just last year, will still be out for multiple games, according to Schefter. The team is...

Bears lead Lions 13-0 after 3 quarters

Jay Cutler threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall and the Chicago Bears held a 13-0 lead over the Detroit Lions after three quarters on Monday night. CHICAGO (AP) -- There was a big gasp going through the stadium as Jay Cutler writhed in pain on the field. He got up and the defense provided a big lift. Chicago Bears offense struggles in 13-7 win over Detroit Lions

The game plan for the Chicago Bears on offense was to establish the run to open up the passing attack that would take advantage of a depleted Detroit Lions secondary.  The run game was established but Jay Cutler once again struggled with his accuracy throughout the game.  Prior to the sack by Ndamukong Suh that led to the bruised ribs, Cutler was 10 for 18 for a 55 completion percentage...
