Found January 12, 2013 on Waiting For Next Year:
Browns fans, you might have to un-burn your Derek Anderson jerseys, WEWS Mike Cairns reporting that new head coach Rod Chudzinski may bring Derek Anderson back to Cleveland. From late Friday: hearing a little whisper about DA coming back to the Browns. Still owns a house in Westlake. Just saying Stay tuned. said he would love too — Mike Cairns (@MikeCairns5) January 12, 2013 from what I have been told Derek Anderson and Browns are talking, there has been communication. — Mike Cairns (@MikeCairns5) January 12, 2013 and from Saturday afternoon: Browns Coach Chud has reached out to Derek Anderson about coming to Cleveland. DA very interested in coming here most likely as backup — Mike Cairns (@MikeCairns5) January 12, 2013 But it’s not just Cairns. ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi tweeted: Are you ready for a Brandon Weeden v. Derek Anderson QB competition? #browns — Tony Grossi (@TonyGrossi) January 11, 2013 Regarding my previous tweet about possible return of Derek Anderson to #Browns … I wasn’t trying to be funny. There’s a chance. — Tony Grossi (@TonyGrossi) January 11, 2013 Anderson, 29 (the same age as Brandon Weeden. YAY), played for Chudzinki in Carolina last season, appearing in two games and completing all four of his pass attempts. Anderson’s last season as a starter was in 2010, when he threw for 2,065 yards with seven TDs and ten interceptions for the Arizona Cardinals. • We need a Colin Kaep(young gun with hart)
  • I would rather the Browns bring in Troy Smith than Derek Anderson. Browns need a young mobile QB. Colt McCoy deserves a fair chance, and maybe Weeden, too. McCoy got screwed after 2 seasons of playing in idiotic offenses and with a poor OL, yet he showed potential. Weeden was ducking and diving and panicking from game 1. He had some decent halves, but never a full quality game. As teams adjsuted to him, SHurmur and Weeden failed to adjust in return.
  • troy smith is to small like wilson with the seahawks what crap if they bring da back i will start cheering for the other paul brown team to heck with the CLEVELAND BROWNS

NFL News: Browns deny interviews for ST coach Chris Tabor

Well, we might have a guess on another coach under Rob Chudzinski for the Browns. Adam Schefter at ESPN has the report: Six teams – OAK, KC, DET, CHI, CAR, IND – have asked to interview Browns ST coach Chris Tabor and Cleveland has denied permission on Tabor. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 13, 2013 This is in contrast to what Jimmy Haslam said at the press conference...

Browns Chudinski may have another Derek Anderson in his hands

Recently hired Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudinski may have a homecoming surprise in the form of Brandon Weeden. Now I know it isn’t fair to compare Weeden to the dreadful Derek Anderson, but the similarities between the two quarterbacks are striking. Both of them had big arms, both of them were not very accurate and both of them made some plays that left you scratching your...

For the first time since 2009, the Browns have had two players voted to the Associated Press All-Pro Team. Kicker Phil Dawson joins tackle Joe Thomas as the Browns representatives on the 2012 AP All-Pro Team. Joe Thomas was selected to his fifth straight All-Pro team (just two votes shy of his fourth consecutive First Team selection) and this marks Dawson’s second time on the...

Rob Chudzinski seems to be a great fit for the Cleveland Browns

As I watched the Cleveland Browns press conference with the formal announcement naming Rob Chudzinski as the team’s new head coach, I couldn’t help but think this was a great hire for the team. The presser itself was non-descript, there were a lot of cliched remarks and generic answers tossed about. There was no discussion about personnel moves or possible hires for the coaching...

The Cleveland Browns announced on Jan. 10 that Rob Chudzinski has been hired as the NFL team’s new head coach. Chudzinski comes over from the Carolina Panthers, where he spent the last two years as the club’s offensive coordinator. He becomes Cleveland’s sixth head coach since the 1999 season. It’s also the third time the Browns have hired Chudzinski as he worked for the...

Report: Browns targeting John Pagano for DC

Looks possible that Norv Turner may not be the only former Chargers coach joining Rod Chudzinski in Cleveland. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports: Browns HC Rob Chudzinski targeting SD’s John Pagano as his defensive coordinator. KC also did, but Chargers wouldn’t let him out of deal yet — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 12, 2013 Ohio.com’s Nate Ulrich adds: Pagano was a...

Browns To Name Norv Turner OC

Last night the Cleveland Browns made a surprising hire by naming Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski their new head coach. According to Peter Schrager of FOXSports.com, the Cleveland Browns will likely hire Norv Turner as their new offensive coordinator now that Rob Chudzinski has been brought in as their new head coach. If the Browns are able to land Turner, their offense will be in very good hands.  He’s arguably the best offensive mind’s in the game.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI ...

Enter Jim Haslam: The Playoffs Are Not a Dream

OK, I often make very bold statements, and this one is no different from the rest. The Cleveland Browns are a few off-season moves from returning to playoff contention, an accomplishment their fans have been dying to witness since the team’s last playoff appearance in 2007. Following their return in 1999 after the late Art Modell relocated the original Browns to Baltimore (now...
