NorthWest Sports Beat:
Stevens survives, this time around
Jerramy Stevens is not a man known for his peaceful ways.
The former Seahawks tightend—who also played for the University of Washington—has a colorful history of violence and sexual related crimes. It’s so long that I’d have to charge my editor for all the extra work it would take to transcribe, so here’s a link to Stevens’ Wikipedia page instead.
That’s why it made waves when reported that Stevens was dating U.S. Women’s soccer star, and fellow UW alum, Hope Solo. Who would possibly date such a high profile thug.
But, stranger things have happened. And after more than a year without incident, maybe Stevens appeared to change his ways.
Stevens spent five seasons with Seattle from 2002-2006. He showed plenty of promise in that time, averaging 11 yards per catch with

15 touchdowns. However, after all his off field issues the ‘Hawks cut ties with the troubled player. After signing with Tampa Bay in 2007, he was released in October of 2010, and has yet to return to the field.
Some reports have even claimed the couple are engaged, with Stevens and Solo posing in a picture together on twitter in which Solo clearly has an engagement ring on.
Either way, their path to happiness will be mired in doubt, with the two going to court to settle a domestic abuse case. It was reported this week that Stevens has been cleared of all charges.
The case stemmed from an incident Monday in which Hope Solo’s brother Marcus called the police after a party got out of control.
While questioning Marcus, Hope Solo was found to have blood on her elbow. Police later found Stevens asleep in a back room, with blood on his cheek and shirt. By law, the police have to arrest someone in a domestic abuse call and Stevens looked like the only suspect around.
A judge has since ruled that there was “zero evidence” to point Stevens to any wrong doing. Solo was also in court, and denied any wrong doing had occurred on the part of Stevens.
Needless to say, it’s a bizarre incident. And with Stevens’ background there’s plenty of reason to believe something’s being hidden here. But until the judge rules otherwise, that remains to be seen.
All we need his former Husky Tim Lincecum to be involved in some way and things will get really weird.

Hope Solo may or may not have married an ex-NFL player with a long criminal history who may or may not have added to that rap sheet that same day by beating on Solo in a fight over where to live in wedded bliss.

A police report has them sparring less than 24 hours earlier with words like stun guns and bloodied elbows...
Hope Solo is a hot mess, and that's a good thing
