Head coach Rex Ryan believes wide receiver Braylon Edwards and quarterback Tim Tebow will be available when the New York Jets play at the Tennessee Titans on Monday night. Edwards, signed this week, is refamiliarizing himself with the playbook while also dealing with a sore knee. "How much he'll play, we’ll see, but I'm optimistic he'll be ready for Monday night," Ryan said Saturday. "We're not going to put specific play numbers on him, or whatever, we'll just see how he progresses. Right now, I feel like he's getting better each day." While Edwards returns to the Jets, the playbook has changed under new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano. "It really is a brand new system for Braylon," Ryan said. "But you are exactly right, he is familiar with Mark (Sanchez). There is no question about it. "He definitely brings back that mentality as a blocker and everything else that we certainly appreciate. Really, it's...

5 Replacements for Rex Ryan, Jets
The New York Jets may be on their way to making a playoff push but don’t be fooled. This season is by far the most frustrating and most disappointing of Rex Ryan’s tenure as Head Coach. After thirteen weeks of nailbiters and fumbles, it is clear New York is in need of a coaching change (to say the least).
Woody Johnson would do his team a favor by firing Ryan. A lot has changed...
Ryan changes mind about Tebow's role
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan flip-flopped on Tim Tebow's possible role in Monday night's game against the Tennessee Titans. Ryan told reporters Friday that Tebow may serve as a personal protector on punts and might see action in the Wildcat formation on offense. Earlier in the week, Ryan said Tebow would not perform those functions. Ryan changed his mind after watching...
Braylon Edwards shocked that Jets 'idiots' signed him
Braylon Edwards practiced with the New York Jets for the first time Thursday and was more stunned than anyone that he was back with Gang Green.
After passing his physical, Edwards finally joined the team yesterday, after being claimed on waivers from Seattle, and only a week removed from calling the Jets decision makers "idiots" on Twitter.
Even the wide receiver'...
Braylon Edwards sued for child support again
Braylon Edwards will be returning to the field dressed in New York Jets green once again tonight and it sounds like this won't be the only return engagement he will have coming up.
The wide receiver is being sued for child support again after fathering a second love child with yet another woman, according to Page Six of The New York Post.
Edwards — who was picked up on waivers...
Jets focusing on struggling Titans, not playoffs
Rex Ryan is taking nothing for granted, not the way this season has gone for the New York Jets.
The Jets still have hope that a favorable schedule will give them a chance at the playoffs even after a 3-6 start. Ryan, though, is taking it one game at a time, beginning with the woeful Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
''I know we have three games left in the regular season...
Jets confident Braylon Edwards will play Monday
After the Seattle Seahawks released wide receiver Braylon Edwards, head coach Pete Carroll said they believed he wouldn’t be able to play for three weeks because of a hamstring injury.
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t agree with Carroll.
“Obviously, we felt different,” Ryan said, via the Newark Star Ledger.
“He passed the physical, he’s cleared to practice,...
Jets Wildcat May Be In Play Monday As Rex Ryan Reverses Course
On Thursday, Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tim Tebow was healthy enough to be the backup quarterback, but not enough so to be the Wildcat quarterback or the teams personal punt protector. Just 24 hours later, the coach reversed that position, saying Tebow was more mobile in practice Thursday than had been expected, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports.
He moved around...
Tebow 'ready to go' against Titans
Rex Ryan is ''optimistic'' Braylon Edwards will play in the New
York Jets' game at Tennessee on Monday night despite the newly
re-acquired wide receiver being limited in practice and listed as
questionable.
Jets To Start Braylon Edwards Against Tennessee?
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets may end up starting recently acquired WR Braylon Edwards against the Titans.
“Tells you a little bit about where this wide receiver corps is right now,” said Schefter.
Schefter adds that the situation and overall field position will likely impact whether or not Edwards starts, but it seems like they’re willing to get him involved...
Rex Ryan thrilled with Edwards' return
While Braylon Edwards garners attention for his freakish athleticism and highlight reel catches, it's the veteran wide receiver's blocking skills that have Rex Ryan excited the most.
The Jets need change.. even with a chance still to make the playoffs
The New York Jets need change, and they need it now. — Rex Ryan can talk as much as he wants about change, but it doesn’t mean jack if his team can’t back his words up, right now the Jets are 6-7. While Yahoo! Sports.com may report that New York still has a chance, it’s not likely to happen, [...]
New York Jets Defensive Film Breakdown: Week 14
Through a tumultuous up and down 2012 season, the New York Jets have experienced some all-time lows in the Rex Ryan era, this year. While the offense has been stagnant and putrid for the better part of the season, the Jets still somehow find themselves mathematically alive for an unlikely Wild Card spot as we enter the tail end of December. Ryan has rallied his group of embattled...
Gameday Deciding Factors: Jets at Titans
The New York Jets (6-7) are winners of three of their last four contests, and with a victory over the Tennessee Titans (4-9) Monday night, they can remain just on the outer edge of the Wildcard race with two games to go. Gang Green's defense has been stout as of late, and their run game has been just as good. Their passing attack, however, is still stagnant thanks to quarterback...
8 Head-Scratching New York Jets Stats
As the Jets gear up for their suddenly big game in Tennessee tonight, the playoffs are more than just a pipe dream. We are all familiar with the scenarios at this point, and with Pittsburgh and Indianapolis losing yesterday, a win tonight puts the Jets right in the thick of the playoff hunt with two games to go. Should that happen, it’s going to be awfully hilarious to see the...
Fantasy Football: Week 15 Injury Report
As always, if the player is not mentioned here, I have no doubt he’ll be out there on Sunday/Monday. Here’s the skinny on the rest of the Week 15 question marks:
Antonio Brown (P): He’s still not 100% back since returning from a high ankle sprain, but he’ll be out there and should be productive.
Ray Lewis (O): He’s close, but team doctors want him to sit one more week...
