To the surprise of no one, Rex Ryan didn't name his starting quarterback Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours after he benched Mark Sanchez for Greg McElroy and watched McElroy make his NFL debut by directing the Jets to the only touchdown of their 7-6 win over the Cardinals. Ryan said he hopes to announce the starter against Jacksonville by the time the Jets practice on Wednesday, and that optimally, he'd know his decision by Tuesday night. So there's at least another day of reading the tea leaves and trying to figure out which way Ryan is leaning. For instance: McElroy and Tim Tebow, the latter of whom spent the first 11 games as the Jets' backup quarterback but was inactive Sunday with broken ribs, both appeared on conference calls with Jets reporters. Is that a sign the three-man race is actually a two-man race and Sanchez is out? Or was it in deference to Sanchez, who is rarely available to reporters on Monday, and his status as the starter? Then again, do...

Rex Ryan indicated after the New York Jets’ 7-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday that he may stick with Greg McElroy as the team’s starting quarterback.

Woody Johnson wanted Greg McElroy. GM Mike Tannebaum and OC Tony Sparano backed Mark Sanchez. Rex Ryan could have hitched his wagon to the owner while distancing himself from the embattled GM and quarterback. Instead, Ryan jumped into the lifeboat with all three. Now only Sanchez can save the crowded sinking ship.
The mind boggling three quarterback controversy, that never really...

According to a report, Jets head coach Rex Ryan may indeed make a QB change this coming Sunday. Mark Sanchez could be benched in favor for Greg McElroy.
Don’t worry you’re not hallucinating, the headline actually includes the name of the New York Jets (5-7) third-string quarterback. Second-year former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy replaced Mark Sanchez on the team’s final drive of the third quarter.
In his first ever regular season game action, McElroy led the Jets to what ended up being the game-winning touchdown in his...

This was the most unwatchable game, and yet the Jets won the football game over the Cardinals in a ugly fashion way.
Mark Sanchez had the worse game of his entire football career. He wasn't going to survive this game in way shape or form.

It is not a good sign for Mark Sanchez. After the quarterback was pulled during a 10-of-21 three interception performance against Arizona, his understudy led the New York Jets to an ugly win.
Greg McElroy was inserted into the game for the Jets following the benching of Sanchez. McElroy got the call into the game as backup Tim Tebow was inactive as he deals with a rib injury.

While Greg McElroy may be the choice of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, he is not the choice of head coach Rex Ryan, who has named Mark Sanchez as the team’s starting quarterback for this Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sanchez was benched in New York’s Week 13 home win against the Arizona Cardinals after throwing three interceptions and failing to lead the...
