FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. On Tuesday Georgia State University announced that it had hired Jeff Jagodzinski as its offensive coordinator for its football team, meaning that he will work games in the Georgia Dome just as his former quarterback, the Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan will. Jagodzinski served as Boston Colleges head coach in 2007, which was Ryans senior year. The Eagles went 11-3 that season and were ranked as high as No. 2 in the country that season. On Wednesday in his weekly meeting with the media, Ryan reacted to the news. Yeah, I heard he got hired down at Georgia State, Ryan said. Im excited for him. Obviously, I had a lot of fun with him my last year at Boston College. I think hell do a good job. Obviously, he has a wealth of knowledge on the offensive side of the ball so I think hell do a good job. Jagodzinski also served as the Falcons tight ends coach in 2004, the year they went to the NFC Championship Game, and as the teams offensive line coach in 2005. In 2006, he was the offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers before taking over at Boston College. What an opportunity to be able to hire someone with the experience and knowledge that Jeff Jagodzinski brings, new Georgia State coach Trent Miles said in a statement. Hes a great offensive mind, and hes been a successful head coach at the highest level of college football. "He will teach concepts and skills that will only make our offense better. How appealing it is for young men to know they can be coached by the man who coached Matt Ryan.
