New York Jets coach Rex Ryan expects Tim Tebow to be cleared to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Ryan told reporters on Wednesday. That does not necessarily mean Tebow will play, however. "We'll see how he progresses during the week," Ryan told the New York Daily News. "He's limited right now and we'll see, but I guess the answer is 'yes,' I think he'll be cleared to play like was he was last week." Tebow was uniform for last Thursday's loss the New England Patriots even though Tebow had cracked ribs, and Ryan received criticism for that. Ryan said he won't know until later in the week whether Tebow might be used in the Jets' Wildcat package against the Cardinals.

New York Jets must get Alex Smith

The flash in the NFL pan that’s been the Rex Ryan-era New York Jets was finally doused Thanksgiving night thanks to the New England Patriots. Losing to the dominant division foe from up north is one thing, but losing like the way the J-E-T-S Jets-Jets-Jets did is flat-out embarrassing. The fallout has been spectacular. Fan number one Fireman Ed has resigned, the boos have been...

Rex won't give up on Top-5 Defense

JETS HEAD COACH 'STUNNED' BY DISMAL PASS RUSH PERFORMANCE BY DEFENSE. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Rex Ryan was confident in training camp that he was the best defensive coordinator in the game. Not only that, but he beat his chest while defiantly announcing his 2012 defensive unit as the 'best group he's coached' since becoming a head coach. After the New England Patriots...

Rex: Tebow could be out vs. Cards

Rex Ryan says the New York Jets are ''looking into'' Tim Tebow's availability and he could be inactive for the team's game Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals because of two broken ribs that have limited the backup quarterback the last few weeks. Ryan says Friday that the team has not made a final decision to not play him -- contrary to an ESPN report. ...

Jets' defense underwhelming, far from dominant

Rex Ryan expected this to be perhaps the best defense he has had since becoming coach of the New York Jets four years ago. Instead, it has been a major disappointment and hardly the big, bad bunch the coach sold it as. Although New York ranks 19th in overall defense, Ryan still won't concede that the Jets will finish worse than fifth. He realizes, though, that his group has...

Moore irked by 'butt fumble' cracks

Jets guard Brandon Moore said that he is bothered by being associated with the now notorious "butt fumble" play where Mark Sanchez fumbled after running into his backside.

Jets' Ryan speaks to LB Scott about fan comments

A day after Bart Scott called out heckling fans, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan told the linebacker to remember to ''appreciate'' them and that they ''deserve better'' than how the team has played. Scott says Thursday that he understands that fans pay ''good money'' to come to NFL games, and can say what they want because it's &...

Rex Ryan Leads List of NFL Coaches on Hot Seat As Season Winds Down

While none of the NFL coaches who have been on the hot seat since early October have been fired yet, the day is likely coming soon. Look for Week 13 NFL specials at Bovada on the futures of a few of those coaches on the chopping block. Among the coaches who will likely see their tenures end on “Black Monday,” the day after the regular season ends, there is no bigger name than...

Rex 'cherishes' first NFL experience with Cardinals

Regardless of what you may think of Rex Ryan as head coach of the New York Jets, the guy has a pretty impressive coaching resume. Ryan went from a graduate assistant at Eastern Kentucky in the late 1980s to one of the best defensive coaches in the game leading the mid-2000 Baltimore Ravens' defense. A few years later, he's the lead guy for New York's green team. But Ryan...

Jets Fans Berate Team Heading to Locker Room at Halftime of Loss to Patriots on Thursday (Video)

It took a few days for this video to surface on the Internet, but it was well worth the wait. Suffice to say, the second quarter of Thanksgiving Day’s 49-19 loss to the Patriots didn’t go well for the Jets. The Pats turned four Jets turnovers into touchdowns, and scored 35 points (all after a scoreless first quarter) to effectively seal the win before half of the game was even...

Fantasy Football Week 13 Preview: Cardinals at Jets

Kevin Kolb is likely to be sidelined again this week, which means rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley will get another start for the Cardinals. While Arizona has to feel that this year has slipped away from them, Rex Ryan is determined that his Jets will finish strong enough to slip into the playoffs. At 4-7 they’ll need to run the table, starting this week at home. All five remaining...

New York Jets – Where Is The Pass Rush?

Among the phrases I most frequently utter during a New York Jets game, “We really need a sack right here. When is the last time we got a sack?” is high up on the list. It isn’t just the 2012 version of the Jets who are awful at getting after the quarterback, it has been a recurring trend on the Jets over nearly the past decade. Did you know the last Jets player to register...

Jets Offensive Line Coach Rages at the Media

When it comes to the United State, New York tends to the center of attention. When it comes to the NFL, the Jets, infamously, have become the new center of attention of the league. One not close to football might wonder, “Why are the 4-7 New York Jets, who have lost four of their last five games the head team that the national media wants to talk about?” On top of having the...
