Typically a team is not so forthcoming about its desires to replace a player at any position as the Buffalo Bills have been about plans to draft a new quarterback. The clock is ticking out on the Ryan Fitzpatrick era in Buffafo and everyone knows it.
When asked about drafting a quarterback Bills head coach Chan Gailey responded “You draft them to play them now.” Further Gailey added that “You don’t draft them to let them sit … They’re thrown in there, and they’re responding extremely well right now.”
Gailey and general manager Buddy Nix are both now on record now suggesting that Fitzpatrick is in the final weeks of his tenure as Buffalos starter. The comments should not come as a complete surprise given the Bills have lost three consecutive games and now sit 3-6 on the year.
Going back to last season the Bills are 4-14 in their last 18 games. Given the success of the quarterbacks drafted in the 2012 Draft the Bills are hoping they will find a franchise quarterback in next years draf...

Ryan Fitzpatrick Calls Brandon Spikes a ‘Punk,’ ‘Took a Cheap Shot’ in Earlier Game
Since the Bills and Patriots are (most likely) done playing each other this season, it looks like Brandon Spikes won’t have another opportunity to lay more lumber on Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2012.
Following New England’s 37-31 victory at Gillette on Sunday, the Harvard grad took a parting shot at the Patriots’ linebacker in his press conference.
“I think...
Fantasy Football Week 11 Pickups
Its that time of the year, when every add or drop counts. Take a look at the Week 11 Fantasy Football pickups put together by some of our writers! Quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick: Don’t be afraid to pick up Fitzpatrick and play him this week against the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick is coming off a strong performance against…
Predator Strikes Again
Brandon "Predator" Spikes certainly isn't one of the most liked players on the field when it comes to game time. This past Sunday against the Bills, Spikes had a helmet-to-helmet hit on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick that led to a roughing the passer call and a few choice words from Fitzpatrick during and after the game. I think Spikes is an emotional player, I think...
Bills Waste Golden Opportunity In Foxboro
It was all set up perfectly.
After a huge defensive stop held the Patiots to only a field goal, the Bills were about to get the ball back trailing by only six points, with a chance to win the game.
Ryan Fitzpatrick had been on fire all afternoon, throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in the contest.
After driving down into the New England redzone, it appeared as if the Bills...
Ryan Fitzpatrick: Brandon spikes is a punk
New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes is not a very well-liked player in the Buffalo Bills locker room. The first time the two teams met this season, Spikes laid a vicious block on tight end Scott Chandler that many of the Bills felt was uncalled for. During New England’s victory on Sunday, Spikes was flagged for roughing the passer after another heavy hit on Ryan Fitzpatrick...
Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Calls Patriots LB Brandon Spikes 'A Punk'
Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes smashed into quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter of the Patriots 37-31 win over the Bills. The hit drew a roughing the passer penalty, and an expletive from Fitzpatrick directed toward Spikes. It drew an equally strong reaction after the game, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Were not going to back down from anybody...
Ryan Fitzpatrick: Brandon Spikes Is a Punk
Jim Davis/Boston Globe
New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes is a different kind of cat. Spikes is the guy that if you’re not on his team, you’re probably not going to like him much at all. Such is the case for all the Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Spikes has taken some heat for a block in the two team’s last meeting that many in the Bills locker room...
Kneel before Necci: Bills/Pats Recap
The Bills and the Patriots played an NFL Game that ended in heartache & despair.
My thoughts:
MVP: Ryan Fitzpatrick. We, myself leading the parade, like to bash Fitz. The weak arm, the inability to throw it deep, the inaccuracy, and the ever looming "Fitz Pick" that kills this team like it did yesterday. But today, Ryan Fitzpatrick played probably...
Stevie Johnson tired of Chan Gailey praising Bills effort
While appearing on the NFL Network today, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson said he is tired of hearing head coach Chan Gailey praise the team for their effort (Credit: AP Photo)
With the Buffalo Bills on a three game losing streak and losers in five of their last six games, there is not much a coach can say that is positive about the team. That is unless you are Buffalo...
QCS Buffalo Water Cooler: Bills Look To Squish The Fish
This week’s Water Cooler features QCS writers Mike Bundt, John Snyder, Mike Straw, Ryan Talbot and Brandon Hess.
Mike Bundt: What’s up everybody! Not the best result for the Bills over the weekend but I think we can all agree that we saw some progress out of the team. With the game in Ryan Fitzpatrick’s hands, Buffalo just couldn’t finish the game off.
Should Bills fans be...
Evauating the Patriots’ Defense: Week 10
It was either really good defense or really bad defense for the New England Patriots this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills- that’s for sure. At times, it seemed as if the Pats were able to get adequate pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the entire second half seemed as if he was getting plenty of time, and the running backs had plenty of running room to make their moves.
There...
Two big turnovers spell another Bills loss to Patriots
BY NICK ST. DENISThe Buffalo Bills hung around Sunday against the New England Patriots. But as has been the case for Buffalo throughout the season, a couple untimely mistakes were too costly to overcome.Despite giving up 37 points, the Bills were within striking distance with 28 seconds left -- on the 15-yard line, down by six points with three downs to work with. Then came the interception...
Bills WR T.J. Graham Takes Blame For Costly Interception
To most, it looked like an awful pass by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, right at the Patriots Devin McCourty in the front of the end zone.
But T.J. Graham, the rookie wide receiver who was the intended receiver on the play, said after the game that he was the one to blame for the interception that sealed New England's 37-31 win over the Bills.
Graham told reporters that he...
Something to cheer up the disheartened Pats fans...
So, the New England Patriots won, but kind of sucked. If you're feeling down on the team, at least we know the players are fun guys. For example, Deion Branch and Zoltan Mesko fight it out to be the locker room DJ in this hilarious ESPN video.Maybe the lack of music was the reason Ryan Fitzpatrick threw all over us...Give me a follow on Twitter, @BrendanAnnely
Bills RB Fred Jackson Officially Out For Week 11 With A Concussion
Bills head coach Chan Gailey announced that RB Fred Jackson has officially been diagnosed with a concussion and will not play against the Dolphins on Thursday, via BuffaloBills.com.
This obviously opens the door for C.J. Spiller who has looked incredible in recent weeks, but has been forced to split carries with Jackson. Theres always the chance that Jackson could be out multiple...
