Matt Ryan looked sharp, while coach Joe Philbin was blunt. ''We have a lot of work to do,'' Philbin said after his winless Miami Dolphins lost to Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons 23-6 Friday night. Ryan threw for 220 yards and a touchdown to help the Falcons earn their first victory of the exhibition season. Counterpart Ryan Tannehill, a rookie playing his first game as the Dolphins' starting quarterback, went 11 for 27 for 112 yards and one interception. Ryan played midway into the third quarter and went 18 for 26, including a 20-yard touchdown to Roddy White against reserves. ''We moved the ball pretty effectively, but we made mistakes on third down and in the red zone,'' Ryan said. ''All in all, not bad.'' Michael Turner carried 10 times for 35 yards, and Julio Jones made four catches for 90 yards. ''We just took our shots,'' Jones said. ''We're trying to be an explosive team.''
