Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has been transferred to Montana State Prison after being kicked out of a drug treatment center for allegedly threatening a staff member.District Judge Kenneth Neill ordered the former San Diego Charger to serve a five-year commitment to the Montana Department of Corrections, state officials confirmed on Thursday. Leaf had been in "lockdown" at the drug treatment center since July 12. The 36-year old was terminated from the treatment program and subsequently placed behind bars after he was found guilty of "behavior that violated conditions of his drug treatment placement." One of the violations included threatening a staff member, said a regional probation and parole administrator.According to the DOC’s Correctional Offender Network Search, Leaf’s status last changed Jan. 10, and it lists his current location as the reception unit at the Montana State Prison.The program is intended to offer rehabilitation assistance for those addicted to methamphetamine or any other addiction with a co-occurring disorder.Leaf was drafted No. 2 overall by the Chargers in the 1998 NFL Draft.Via Great Falls Tribune
