San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews has certainly frustrated fantasy football owners throughout the 2012 NFL season as the highly-touted running back from Fresno State has done little has failed to live up to the lofty expectations set upon him this offseason. Many experts including myself had him ranked among the top-10 at the running back position regardless of scoring format and even after an injury in the preseason delayed  the start of his 2012 campaign, he still appeared to have the ability of the RB1, especially after posting 25 fantasy points in standard point per reception leagues on a Sunday Night against New Orleans in Week 5 after totaling 139 yards and a touchdown. Since that night in the Big Easy though, things have been anything but easy for Mathews, as he has eclipsed 100 total yards just once, while also failing to reach the end zone in eight consecutive games. During this eight-game stretch, the former first-round draft choice has averaged just over 10 fan...

Norv turns to Craigslist for job search?

The San Diego Chargers will be searching for a new head coach, if they haven’t started already. Norv Turner recently told Jim Nantz of CBS that he’s accepted his fate. “We all know in the end what the final outcome will be,” Turner told Nantz, who repeated it during the broadcast. Someone in San Diego is looking out for Norv as this Craigslist ad was placed in San Diego....

Groupon can’t even help the Chargers sell out

According to USA Today Sports, the San Diego Chargers are so desperate to sell tickets that they used Groupon to help them try to sell out this Sunday’s game against the Panthers. Chargers waded into the land of discounted microdermabrasion treatments and half-priced speedboat tours this week by offering tickets for Sunday’s game on Groupon. For the low price of $68, buyers would...

San Diego Chargers selling tickets through Groupon

Tweet   The good news for the San Diego Chargers is they’re in second place in the AFC West. The bad news is a brutal middle-of-the-season stretch, where they went 1-7, has the Chargers at 5-8 and leaves the team with little chance of making the playoffs. It has also contributed to quite a few empty seats [...]

Breaking Down The Chargers 3rd Down & Long Trap Play Against The Steelers

In the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-24 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday the defense did a good job of defending the Chargers rushing attack in the first half as they held running backs Ryan Mathews, Ronnie Brown and Jackie Battle to just 29 yards on 14 carries, with the longest run being the 9 yard run by Mathews on the first play of the Chargers first possession. The second...

The Chargers Resort To Groupon – Still Get Blacked Out

The Chargers, who can’t seem to do anything right lately (I’d call them “loveable” but that’s far, far from the truth) resorted to using Groupon on Monday to try to sell out this Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Panthers. The Groupon was for an end zone seat priced at $68, which included a $20 voucher for use at the concession stands.  Per Ticketmaster, the...

Panthers-Chargers Preview

The San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers are coming off impressive wins - one against a potential playoff team and the other against a division champion. Those victories just came a little too late. San Diego may enter Sunday still clinging to the slimmest hopes for a playoff berth as it hosts Carolina, which has already been eliminated. The Chargers (5-8) lost four straight...
