Safety Quinton Teal was brought in during the preseason and was let go before the season. The team has decided to bring back Teal to add his talents on the special teams. Teal played in 44 games over three years with the Carolina Panthers, primarily on special teams, and recorded 26 tackles on those units.

The Chargers will also need to sign their fourth long snapper of the season this week. David Binn hurt his hamstring early in the season and the substitutes seemed to be like fine china. The latest long snapper was seen on crutches on the sideline this week and will likely be out for the next game. I won’t even try to learn the new long snapper’s name until he plays 2 full games or us.

We hope the Teal can bring his experience to the special teams and help the younger players get into the right positions to make a play. He will add much needed relief and there may be other players moved into the special teams units while playing starting roles on defense. Hopefully we see Brandon Siler rejoin special teams and still contribute on defense.
