NEW ORLEANS -- So much for players-only meetings. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick used the occasion of his team's three-game October nosedive to bring his teammates behind closed doors last week in an attempt to hash out their woes. After a 28-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Monday night -- the Eagles' fourth consecutive defeat and fifth in six games, dropping their record to 3-5 -- Vick might be running out of time as a starting quarterback. Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes and the Saints finally uncorked their missing rushing attack. New Orleans (3-5) gained 140 yards on 25 carries to earn its third victory in four games. Brees completed 21 of 27 passes for 239 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The Eagles had five red-zone opportunities, and they wound up with just two Alex Henery field goals, an interception, a lost fumble and a fourth-down failure to show for it. The killer was a tipped Vick pass in the first quarter that corner...

Marcus Vick Now ‘Sorry’ About Giant Mess He Caused Brother Michael Vick

The ongoing saga of Michael Vick and what his future holds in Philadelphia got more complicated this week when Marcus Vick decided to spend the extent of Monday Night Football tweeting a defense of his brother and saying he wanted to be traded. Marcus Vick’s entertaining rant, which put the blame on just about everybody but his older brother, led to Michael Vick later apologizing...

Michael Vick: Pull up your big boy pants and buckle up

Man stop your wining, Michael. So the media is the cause of the Eagles’ maladies are the media’s fault? He said after practice that the media are “creating turmoil.” Grow a pair of ‘em Michael. See if the line protects you. Show us some umph and we will support you. Andy Reid fired the defensive coordinator and the only reason he didn’t fire his offensive coordinator...
NOT HIS BROTHER'S KEEPER

Vick unaware of brother's rant

Following Philly's loss to New Orleans, Vick said he was not aware that his brother Marcus took to Twitter to demand that the Eagles trade him

2 quarterbacks, 2 increasingly desperate teams

Michael Vick and Drew Brees came into the NFL the same year. Now, they're in the same predicament. Both are the quarterbacks of increasingly desperate teams, the season teetering on the edge of collapse. Brees has essentially become a one-man show for the New Orleans Saints (2-5), who are plagued by a historically leaky defense and anemic running game. For Vick, the stakes...

Michael Vick Apologizes for Marcus Vick’s Twitter Rant, Says He Doesn’t Want to Be Traded From Eagles

Michael Vick had enough to worry about Monday night after the Eagles lost their fourth game in a row, with Vick throwing an interception and getting sacked seven times. But after the game, it got worse. Vick found out that his poor night had been accompanied by a Twitter rant by none other than his younger brother, Marcus Vick. Marcus Vick unleashed a torrent of tweets, blaming Michael...

Michael Vick: I talked to Marcus and it won’t happen again

After his brother Marcus tweeted he wanted his brother out of Philadelphia, Michael Vick talked to his brother about not ruining the Vick name anymore (Credit: AP Photo) During Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick had a rough night. Eagles Face a Do-Or-Die Game in a Do-Or-Die Season For Andy Reid

AP Photo Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles are playing to save their season tonight on Monday Night Football.  If you want to point to a single pivotal game this year, this is it for the Eagles tonight. The embattled team is not quite on life support yet, but they seem to be a team that is slowly dying.  The “fire Andy” bandwagon is growing larger by the day and fans are...

Saints Nation: Defensive and Special Teams Player Grades vs. Eagles

If you had told me before the game that the Saints would sack Michael Vick 7 times and hold the Eagles to 7 points, I would have laughed in your face. If you told me they'd yield 447 yards, I'd absolutely believe you. If you told me both would happen, I'd probably seek to have you institutionalized. But that's exactly what happened oddly enough. Make no mistake, the...

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints: Five Things We Learned

I can’t wait to listen to sports talk radio today here in Philadelphia, as I’m sure it will be a blood-bath calling for the firing of Andy Reid, the benching of Michael Vick and a slew of other venomous demands.Last night’s game played right into everything that has been said about the Eagles this season. We saw issues in the red zone for Philadelphia while we saw a passing...

Saints hand Eagles fourth straight loss

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are having fun again. They hope it's a sign of things to come in the second half of the season. Michael Vick kept picking himself up off the Superdome turf, the recipient of an awful beating. The Philadelphia Eagles are down -- and nearly out. Brees threw two touchdown passes, extending his NFL record streak to 51 games, and Patrick Robinson...

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles: Three Bold Predictions

In my (biased) mind, I truly think the Eagles vs. Cowboys is the greatest rivalry in the NFL today. Each time the two teams meet, there is always something on the line.Last year, the Cowboys playoff spot counted on a win in Week 16; unfortunately they lost after Tony Romo went down early on with a hand injury. This year, they will play for their playoff lives.Sitting at 3-5, neither...
