The New Orleans Saints are trying to put a bow on their new offensive coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is assembling an experienced and proven unit with plenty of intriguing traits.
Their newest addition fits that bill, too.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that the Saints are hiring Rick Dennison as their run game coordinator. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion as an assistant coach in the NFL.

Dennison is a 3x Super Bowl winning coach with the #Broncos, who was last with Minnesota from 2019-2021.

Dennison is 65 years old. He has ties to both Klint Kubiak and his family. He was teammates with Klint's dad, Gary Kubiak. The older Kubak was a backup quarterback for the Broncos from 1983 to 1991, and Dennison was a linebacker.
In 2010, Dennison was reunited with Gary Kubiak in Houston when he became Kubiak's offensive coordinator. He was there until 2013. In 2015, he rejoined Kubiak as his OC with the Denver Broncos.
Dennison has been out of football for the last two years. He's a noteworthy addition to the offensive staff, though. Dennison is well-respected around the league and will help out with the offensive line as well. Consistently, his units produce on the ground and at OL.
Saints offensive staff has some firepower to it. Offensive line should be incredibly well coached. Players have to execute, but all the resources are there.

The Saints hope that the addition of Dennison will improve their running game that was inconsistent in 2023. New Orleans ranked 21st in yardage and 31st in yards per carry last season. That's unusual for the Saints over the past decade.
Dennison joins new running backs coach Derrick Foster as the top pieces of the offensive staff for the rushing attack.
