The New Orleans Saints placed running back Mark Ingram and linebacker Will Herring on season-ending injured reserve.
The moves were announced Tuesday as the Saints prepare for this weekend's playoff game against the Detroit Lions.
Ingram, the No. 28 pick in last year's draft, missed the final four games of the regular season with a sprained toe on his left foot.
Herring, a backup, suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in Sunday's win over Carolina.
Ingram, the winner of the 2009 Heisman Trophy, finished his rookie campaign with 474 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
