NFL Injury Report:
The Saints have lost starting cornerback Jabari Greer with what appears to be a very serious leg/knee injury. Saints medical staff placed an air cast over the leg and Greer was carted off.
Greer waved to the crowd on the way out but replays showed a gruesome scene. Greer’s leg gave out at the knee as he landed on the play and was twisted in a gruesome manner.
Running back Darren Sproles left holding his leg, as well. Sproles was seen receiving attention on the sideline training table. Sideline reporter Pam Oliver reported the Saints said it’s an ankle injury and they expect that Sproles will return.
Greer had not missed a start this season but will almost certainly miss a lot of time after the severity of the damage that was very obvious to everyone watching is assessed. Twitter has flooded with pictures and videos of Greer’s leg but I will leave it for you to decide if you care to stomach it. It’s not pleasant.

New Orleans Saints cornerback Jabari Greer suffered a leg injury during the first half against the San Francisco 49ers that appeared to be serious. The New Orleans Saints did it. It was a hard fought game, but they were able to win a grind it out game over the hated San Francisco 49ers. The game wasn’t perfect, but game s against the 49ers don’t end up being that. The defense played superb once again, but also this game showed a nice maturation of the Sean Payton and Drew Brees.
For one, Sean Payton actually ran the ball...
A familiar foe in the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) will come into the Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints (7-2)in what figures to be the game of the weekend in the NFC. The Saints are coming off one of the more dominating performances the NFL has seen this season in their win over the Cowboys. The 49ers have been a thorn in the side of the Saints after knocking them out of the...
Drew Brees and the Saints caught a huge break late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the 49ers when a controversial ‘roughing the passer’ penalty was called on San Fran during this sack. Brees fumbled on the hit and the ball was recovered by the 49ers, but the play was overturned and New Orleans kicked the game-tying field goal just moments later.
The post Questionable...
Drew Brees guided the New Orleans to two late Garrett Hartley field goals to give the Saints a 23-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Hartley’s 42-yarder with 2:06 left tied the game. His game-winner as time expired was from 31 yards. “I just take myself out of the element,” said Hartley after the game. “It was really funny that this happened the way that...
The New Orleans Saints exploded offensively last week against Dallas, putting up 49 points, breaking a franchise single-game record with 625 yards and an NFL single-game record with 40 first downs. And one of the most potent skill players in the league played a minuscule role in the success.
Tight end Jimmy Graham hauled in five receptions for only 59 yards against the Cowboys....
Disappointed as Drew Brees was with the Saints' costly mistakes, he could not help but be impressed by the way his team found a way to pull out a last-second triumph over a playoff-contending team.
Despite three turnovers and a failed fourth-down attempt, New Orleans rallied from a 20-14 fourth-quarter deficit for a 23-20 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Crazy things always seem to happen in the New Orleans Saints' recent games vs. the San Francisco 49ers, whether it was two interceptions returned for touchdowns in a loss last season, or New Orleans turning the ball over five times in a 2011 playoff loss.
It's safe to say that trend didn't stop Sunday.
With the way the Saints have been playing at home this season, they...
The New Orleans Saints were down 3 with less than 4 minutes left trying to drive down the field. On a crucial 3rd down, Drew Brees was lit up by 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks and he fumbled the football. Lucky for Brees and the Saints, a penalty was called for a high hit at Brees neck. Upon further review it looks like it is the right call, but it’s tough for Brooks to hit...
It's going to take me a while to recover from that one emotionally, but guess what, we have more football on Thursday! The Sainst beat the 49ers 23-20 thanks to a Garrett Hartley field goal with just over 2 minutes left to tie, and another Hartley field goal as time expired. The win gives the Saints an 8-2 record and they will root for the Patriots on Monday night to give them...
Bad calls are part of today’s NFL. With instant replay providing ample salt for every wound, it’s guaranteed that the refs are going to get some calls right and many wrong in any given game, and that fans will know it.
Sunday’s 49ers-Saints game had a few big ones. There were two decisions made concerning intentional grounding, with New Orleans’ Drew Brees being called for...
