Lost from the Saints 24-10 handling of the Jets yesterday was this filthy little play from Mark Sanchez(notes), throw a completely unnecessary shot at the knees of Jonathan Vilma(notes). Hm. Remind you of anyone? It was a dirty play for Brett Favre(notes), and it's an even dirtier one for Sanchez. At least Favre was attempting to make a block to get a few extra yards for a ball carrier. Sanchez's knee-dive appears to be completely gratuitous. Vilma, as you might suspect, wasn't happy about it. "Actually, I was surprised he (cut me)," Vilma said in the Saints locker room. "I was very surprised. I don't know what he was doing, to be honest with you. I saw him, and thought he was just trying to buy time, and then he goes and cuts me.
