A quarterback for the New Orleans Saints has received a six-game suspension by the NFL ahead of Week 1.

The Saints are preparing to take on the Tennessee Titans for their Week 1 matchup Sunday. They’ll do so without their rookie quarterback.

According to Brooke Kirchhofer with NOF Network, the NFL released a statement that rookie quarterback Jake Haener received a six-game suspension:

Haener was drafted by the Saints in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Haener is listed as the fourth-string quarterback on the Saints roster behind Derek Carr, Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. Haener will have another six weeks to learn the offense before he can be activated again.
