Saints sign LB Jaylon Smith, cut WR Keke Coutee

The New Orleans Saints signed linebacker Jaylon Smith and released wide receiver Keke Coutee on Friday.

Smith, 28, joins his fourth team in three years. He had 88 tackles in 13 games with the New York Giants in 2022.

He was a second-round draft pick by Dallas in 2016 and made the Pro Bowl in 2019.

Smith has recorded 624 tackles with 11 sacks, six fumble recoveries and two interceptions in 87 games (69 starts) with the Cowboys (2017-21), Green Bay Packers (2021) and Giants (2021-22).

Coutee, 26, signed with the Saints in June. He has 85 catches for 966 yards and four touchdowns in 33 games (10 starts) with the Houston Texans (2018-20) and Indianapolis Colts (2021-22).
