Thurs @ 10:30 pm - Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting the deal with Sproles is actually four years, $14 million, with $6 million guaranteed.
10:25 pm - Since his arrival in San Diego in 2005, running back Darren Sproles has been one of the league’s most explosive playmakers, capable of scoring from almost any point on the field in a multitude of ways.
The Chargers did everything they could to get him the ball in the open field, and while they likely would have preferred to keep him in the fold this season, Sproles is reportedly on his way out of town in favor of a deal with New Orleans.
Multiple sources are reporting an agreement between Sproles and the Saints, with the contract running for the next two years.
Exact details are not yet available, but it’s almost certainly going to be a much more team friendly deal than the one New Orleans extricated themselves from earlier in the day with fellow running back/kick returner Reggie Bush.
