Good job, Cameron! Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is one of the most popular athletes in the entire state of Louisiana, ranking No. 14 in SNIPDaily’s Louisiana Top 100 this past month. He’s garnered more attention even than his infamous teammate — rookie safety Marcus Williams — the goat of the Minnesota Miracle.

After what Jordan did ahead of Super Bowl LII, however, we’re betting he becomes even more beloved by those in his state, and across the nation in general.

The superstar of Who Dat Nation, known for his scorn of inferior offensive linemen and for his indomitable moves on the field, is showing a softer side ahead of the big game. He’s sending Lawrence Brooks, a 108-year-old World War II veteran and die-hard Saints fan, to Minneapolis.

“I just thought I’d say thank you for everything you do, your military service back in your younger days. I appreciate everything you do,” Jordan told Brooks, via WGNO.

Brooks replied, “I appreciate everything you’re doing, too.”

The only thing that stinks about this is that the Saints are sitting at home instead of competing in Super Bowl LII. Everything else about this story is pure gold.

It’s no wonder Cameron Jordan was the Saints’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. He’s a gem, both on and off the field.
