The New Orleans Saints continue to try and upgrade their roster, as they recently worked out former Seattle and Cleveland quarterback/receiver Seneca Wallace.
Saints interim coach Aaron Kromer said Wallace, who has played nine seasons, worked out at quarterback.
It isn't clear how the workout went or exactly why the Saints would be interested in the 32-year-old Wallace with a healthy Chase Daniel already on the roster. The Saints haven't signed Wallace. However, the team did re-sign receiver Greg Camarillo and released cornerback Elbert Mack.

Phil Taylor eager to get back but “won’t push it”
One of the nicer stories in an otherwise disappointing year so far for the Browns has been the defensive line. Much-maligned John Hughes and surprising late-rounder Billy Winn have been surprisingly good filling in for Phil Taylor. While it is a nice story, there’s no doubt that it would be an even better one if they were coming in to spell Taylor rather than filling in for him...
Saints could be without WR Moore
New Orleans wide receiver Lance Moore has missed the past two days of practice because of a hamstring injury and his status is up in the air for Sunday night's game against San Diego. The Saints already are thin at the position with Marques Colston, Devery Henderson, Courtney Roby and Joseph Morgan as their only healthy receivers. Moore has 19 receptions for 287 yards and...
Brees: Payton, Vitt part of team accomplishment
Drew Brees said Thursday he wasn't looking for added motivation for his 0-4 Saints team when he requested that General Manager Mickey Loomis and coaches Sean Payton and Joe Vitt be allowed to attend Sunday's game with the San Diego Chargers. Payton, Loomis and Vitt are currently suspended for their roles in the bounty scandal, but Brees asked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell...
Payton interested in job with Cowboys?
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is friends with many Dallas Cowboys players and coaches. He also lives in the North Texas area. But that doesn't necessarily mean he wants to leave his current job to become the Cowboys' head coach.Payton, who was suspended for the season for his involvement in the Saints' alleged bounty scandal, spoke Tuesday at a PwC SMU Athletic...
Saints Bring Back WR Greg Camarillo, Release CB Elbert Mack
The New Orleans Saints re-signed wide receiver Greg Camarillo and released cornerback Elbert Mack, the team announced Wednesday.
The Saints brought back Camarillo after the team released him on Sept. 26. Camarillo was on the active roster for Weeks 2 and 3 against Carolina and Washington, respectively, but never caught a pass in either game.
Mack was released after returning...
NFL grants Sean Payton permission to attend Saints-Chargers game
Tweet On Sunday New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has the chance to move past Johnny Unitas and establish a new NFL record for touchdown passes thrown in consecutive games. Unitas’ son Joe and his family will be watching and cheering on the Saints signal caller. Until recently it appeared currently suspended head coach [...]
Legal Teams For LB Jonathan Vilma, Roger Goodell File Memos Concerning Subpoenas
The legal teams for New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma and the NFL are going back and forth once again concerning subpoenas and depositions in Vilma's defamation lawsuit against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Both sides filed supplemental memos to Magistrate Judge Daniel Knowles on Monday involving the NFL'...
Lance Moore misses practice for the Saints
According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Saints wide receiver Lance Moore missed practice on Thursday and could be in danger of missing this week’s game with a hamstring injury.
Now I see why the Saints worked out five free agent wide receivers this week.
Saints Nation: Scouting the Chargers
The Saints are 0-4 and the only thing we have to really root for at this point is Brees getting the consecutive games with a passing touchdown record. He's currently tied with Johnny Unitas and one touchdown pass in this game will give him what he needs to eclipse it. So who will be the man to catch that touchdown pass? I'm going with Jimmy Graham. Of course while the Saints...
Browns SS T.J. Ward Prepares To Play After Undergoing Thumb Surgery
Browns starting strong safety T.J. Ward returned to practice Thursday after undergoing surgery on his right thumb this past weekend.
Ward wore a black cast as he participated in individual and team drills, a sign he will likely play Sunday when the Browns (0-4) visit the New York Giants (2-2). Ward was limited in practice, according to the teams injury report. He broke his thumb...
New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers: Five Things We Learned
The Green Bay Packers gave the New Orleans Saints every opportunity to win their first game of the season, last Sunday at Lambeau Field. Garrett Hartley’s 48-yard attempt sailed wide right with under 3 minutes to play, and the Packers came away victorious, with the final score reading 28-27. This game is proof that parity is alive and well in the NFL, and that nothing is going...
