FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons left tackle Sam Baker admitted that he’s not 100 percent recovered from back surgery and that it’s been tough adjusting to a reserve role on Thursday.
Baker, who’s trying to return from back surgery, is currently a reserve and special-teams player.
Baker started the first six games, but Smith announced that Will Svitek will start at left tackle. Since being taken in the first round of the 2008 draft, Baker has started 41 games at left tackle and played in 45 NFL games.
“It’s real difficult to not be a part of it when you’ve been part of it for so long,” said Baker, who has started since being taken in the first round of the 2008 draft.
