Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels -- ruled out of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs because of a neck injury -- does not know how long he will be sidelined and is scheduled to be re-evaluated next week, he said today before practice at Redskins Park. "Just kind of waiting right now to let everything calm down," Samuels said. "I'm positive, though. I think everything will turn out fine." Samuels was injured on the Redskins' second play from scrimmage in the 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Hit hard by a Carolina defensive end on the snap, Samuels suffered what team medical personnel diagnosed as a stinger. Because of a tingling sensation he experienced, Samuels, who has played with the spinal condition of stenosis since high school, was held out of the remainder of the game for precautionary reasons.
