Found January 10, 2013 on The Football Fan Spot:
3 years ago everyone was calling for Norv Turner to be fired because of the Chargers’ tendency to have strong regular seasons and then choke in the playoffs every year. I bet the Chargers would trade the last three years for that. Over the last 3 years, the Chargers have begun their underachieving earlier, missing the playoffs in all 3 seasons. On one hand, things are looking up. Norv Turner was finally fired, as well the architect of this mess, GM AJ Smith. On the other hand, Philip Rivers, once one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, has regressed mightily over the last 2 seasons. It’s tough to tell why. It’s possible that the 31-year-old quarterback aged early like Carson Palmer. It’s also possible that a lack of offensive supporting cast is to blame. The Chargers will have to focus on the offense this offseason to try to get something out of Rivers, but it wouldn’t shock me if Rivers were throwing for 4000 yards on a 4-12 Raiders team in 3 years. Just saying. Offensive Tackle...

Norv Turner to run Browns offense

Time has determined that Norv Turner is not head coaching material. Turner has a brilliant offensive mind but he has never been successful at keeping the entire show together. The Cleveland Browns are gambling on Turner’s brilliance shining through in a reduced capacity.  Cleveland named their new head coach Rob Chudzinski on Wednesday. Chudzinski innovated Carolina’s offensive...

McCoy's focus in Denver; Turner as Cards' OC?

Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy interviewed with the Cardinals late last week, and while he was not made available to the Phoenix media afterwards, he did have this to say to the Denver Post and other Denver media outlets on Wednesday: "We told the teams up front at our meetings -- we told them ahead of time -- that our No. 1 focus is to keep moving on with the tournament...

Browns To Name Norv Turner OC

Last night the Cleveland Browns made a surprising hire by naming Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski their new head coach. Chudzinski has hit the ground running and his first duty as head coach was to find someone to an implement an offensive system that can be productive. According to Pro Football Talk, Chudzinski will hire a guy that regardless of his ability as a head...

Norv Turner will reportedly be the Browns next offensive coordinator

According to Peter Schrager of, the Cleveland Browns will likely hire Norv Turner as their new offensive coordinator now that Rob Chudzinski has been brought in as their new head coach. If the Browns are able to land Turner, their offense will be in very good hands.  He’s arguably the best offensive mind’s in the game.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI ...

Report: Browns targeting John Pagano for DC

Looks possible that Norv Turner may not be the only former Chargers coach joining Rod Chudzinski in Cleveland. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports: Browns HC Rob Chudzinski targeting SD’s John Pagano as his defensive coordinator. KC also did, but Chargers wouldn’t let him out of deal yet — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 12, 2013’s Nate Ulrich adds: Pagano was a...

The San Diego Chargers have hired Tom Telesco from the Indianapolis Colts to replace fired general manager A.J. Smith. Telesco is to be introduced at an afternoon news conference. We’re still waiting to confirm whether or not Turner will be the team’s offensive coordinator, but it...

Quick NFL offseason predictions

Below is a list of some NFL offseason predictions. Norv Turner and Alex Smith will reunite in New York. The Jets would be very wise to bring in Norv Turner as their Offensive Coordinator. If they do so, it would clear the way for Alex Smith to join the Jets to replace Sanchez. Smith comes at an affordable rate and fits perfectly with the ‘ground and pound’ mantra of the Jets...

Titans should ask, what's wrong with this picture?

Among all the firings of coaches and general managers around the league last week, there were three I thought were noteworthy regarding their success against the Titans.  Those three are former Chargers G.M. A.J. Smith and coach Norv Turner and former Bears coach Lovie Smith. As we painfully recall, the Chargers and Bears each humiliated the Titans in 2012, by scores of 38-10...

Chudzinski Named Browns Head Coach

Chudzinski worked with Cam Newton the past two seasons with the Panthers. It is been rumored that former Chargers coach Norv Turner will join Chudzinski as the offensive coordinator.
