Georgia OL Cordy Glenn

Chargers Picks -

1st round, pick 18

Cordy Glenn, OL, Georgia    Combine Results: Height – 6’5″  Weight – 345lbs  Arm Length – 35 3/4″  Bench Reps – 31  40 yard dash – 5.15

Glenn is a massive offensive lineman.  He played LT at Georgia this year and could play either OT position or kick inside to Guard.  He moves amazingly well for his size and is very strong.  The Chargers fill a huge need with Glenn as they have two positions that require immediate attention, former ProBowler Kris Dielman’s spot at LG and RT where Jeromey Clary is one of the worst starting Tackles in the NFL.

2nd round, pick 17 (49 overall)

Vinny Curry, DE, Marshal    Combine Results: Height – 6’3″  Weight – 266lbs  10 yard split – 1.68  Pro Day – 28 Bench Reps  35.5″ vert

or

Ronnell Lewis, OLB, Oklahoma    Combine Results: Height – 6’2″   Weight – 253lbs  10 yard split – 1.65   Bench Reps – 36   32.5″ vert

The Chargers pass rush is arguably their biggest need.  After going OL in the first round the Chargers will most likely go with the best available pass rusher.  Curry played almost entirely at DE with his hand in the dirt  in college however, he has been working hard on dropping into coverage and other LB skills and got great marks on his Pro Day performance in LB drills.  Curry’s play making skills cannot be denied however, over last 2 seasons he produced 23 sacks and 40 Tackles for loss. Ronnell Lewis is much more athletic, played OLB in college, and is a special teams monster.  He doesnt have as impressive numbers as Curry, 18 TFL and 9 sacks, however all the tools are there.

3rd round, pick 16 (78 overall)

George Iloka, SS, Boise State    Combine Results: Height – 6’4″   Weight – 225lbs   40 yard dash – 4.59    Bench Reps – 20    34.5″ vert

The Chargers secondary has missed the presence of a physical safety since Rodney Harrison left.  With Steve Gregory leaving and the addition of Atari Bigby that leaves, Bigby and Darrell Stuckey to compete for SS.  Iloka is a little stiff in coverage but is a huge body who makes sure tackles and would be an excellent compliment to Eric Weddle.

4th round, pick 15 (110 overall)

Ronnie Hillman, RB, SDSU     Combine Results: Height – 5’9″  Weight – 200lbs    10 yard split – 1.50    40 yard dash – 4.41    37″ vert

Darren Sproles was sorely missed this season to say the least.  Hillman could help lessen that blow being a similar, small, change of pace back.  He was very productive at SDSU, scoring 36 TD’s and covering 3,243 yards on the ground in just the last 2 seasons.  Even at his small size he is very durable, not missing a single game.  He will have to work on his pass catching a little but that is a very small concern.

5th round, pick 14 (149 overall)

Lucas Nix , OG, Pitt  Combine Results: Height – 6’5″  Weight – 317lbs   40 yard dash – 5.43   10 yard split  – 1.82   Arm Length – 33 1/2″

Nix is a mean, nasty OG and quality OL depth should never be passed up.  With Nix coming in to add depth and compete for a starting job at LG it could give Glenn a chance to start at RT. That may even let Clary kick inside to try out for LG.

6th round, pick 13 (183 overall)

Dale Moss, WR, South Dakota State  Pro Day: Height – 6’3″+  Weight – 213lbs  40 yard dash – 4.45  41.5″ vert  6.63 3-cone drill.

Moss is a small school player with limited football experience but extremely high upside.  Played basketball all through college until playing football his senior year.  Lead the team in receiving with 61 receptions for 949 yards (15.6 ypc) and 6 TD’s.  With his amazing vertical and basketball skills, Moss attacks the ball at its highest point and catches the ball with his hands away from the body well.  His 6.63 result in the 3 cone would have been a Combine record and shows his great agility at his size. Could be a steal this late in the draft.

7th round, 19th pick (226 overall)

Adrian Robinson, OLB, Temple   Height – 6’2″   Weight – 250lbs

Robinson was a very productive player in college. Over the last three seasons he put up 32 TFL and 22 Sacks.  With pass rush being the number one need, adding another talented rusher with a lot of upside this late would be perfect. Robinson has a quick first step and a very good spin move.

7th round, 43rd pick (250 overall) Comp Pick

Ronnie Cameron, DT, Old Dominion  Height – 6’2″  Weight – 300lbs

Small school prospect with a never ending motor that revs at 150% on every play.  In 2 seasons Cameron racked up 145 tackles and 12 sacks. He has a VERY quick first step, especially for a defensive lineman, and a wide variety of moves to beat blockers. Would add quality depth to an already young DL.  This would also make Cameron the first player ever to be drafted from Old Dominion.
