San Diego Chargers (5-9) at New York Jets (6-8) Ugh. How am I supposed to pick between these two teams? The Chargers have been incredibly inconsistent and the Jets are a mediocre at best team who has just been eliminated from the playoff race making a controversial move to start a former 7th round pick who has never made an NFL start. There’s a lot of conflicting stuff on both sides. For the Jets, they’ve beaten almost every mediocre or worse team they’ve played this season and the Chargers certainly qualify. They’re 0-6 against the likes of New England (twice), Seattle, Pittsburgh, Houston, and San Francisco, but 6-2 in their other 8 games, beating Buffalo, Indianapolis, Miami, Arizona, St. Louis, and Jacksonville. Their only two losses against mediocre or worse teams were last week in Tennessee in a 5 turnover **** show and in a rematch game against the Dolphins. Speaking of that 5 turnover **** show, Greg McElroy should be an upgrade over Mark Sanchez, but do we really know? I no...

Greg McElroy Takes a Beating vs. Chargers

Jets quarterback Greg McElroy spent as much time on the ground as he did upright Sunday against the Chargers. New York's offensive line allowed a season-worst 11 sacks in the 27-17 loss.Fantasy Spin:McElroy may have been a slight improvement over Mark Sanchez but he certainly wasn't great on Sunday (14-for-24, 185 yards and an interception). Luckily he has a pretty favorable...

Greg McElroy makes horrible attempt at a tackle after throwing pick

Rex Ryan might regret his decision of having Greg McElroy start.  He didn’t play very well, and this attempt at a tackle was pretty much a microcosm of the game for the New York Jets.  Might be time to clean house and start over for the Jets Organization.GIF via: Gifulmination.com

GAME RECAP: CHARGERS 27—JETS 17

Jets "ridiculous" offensive line play gives team their ninth loss. Florham Park, N.J.: Quarterback Greg McElroy couldn't overcome poor offensive line play in his first career start in the NFL. The Jets offensive line gave up 11 (one shy of the NFL record) sacks in the 27-17 loss against the San Diego Chargers."It was great on their part, but ridiculous on our...

Report: Mark Sanchez will back up Greg McElroy

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, quarterback Mark Sanchez is expected to back up Greg McElroy during Sunday’s game against the Chargers. With Sanchez being benched this week, many people wondered if Tim Tebow would back up McElroy since he’s been the Jets’ second string quarterback throughout the regular season. Now with the report that Sanchez will back...

Tebow left to watch Jets play wildcat

If it wasn’t bad enough for Tim Tebow who was overlooked by Rex Ryan for Greg McElroy, he also had to watch Jeremy Kerley play wildcat for the New York Jets. Tebow, who is fully healty, had to watch as Kerley played in the Wildcat, took a direct snap and threw a 42-yard completion to Clyde Gates to set up the Jets’ first touchdown. With that one pass, Kerley eclipsed Tebow’s...

Chargers sack McElroy, Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Norv Turner was in a generous mood, awarding game balls to each one of his San Diego Chargers who sacked Greg McElroy. Hope he stocked up on footballs. Led by Kendall Reyes' 3 12 sacks, the Chargers made things downright miserable for McElroy, taking him down 11 times and tying the team record while ruining the New York Jets quarterback's first...

Chargers rack up 11 sacks in 27-17 win over Jets

One after another, the San Diego Chargers barreled into Greg McElroy and slammed him to the turf. A whopping 11 times. That's a lot of bruises for the New York Jets' new - and sore - starting quarterback. Led by Kendall Reyes' 3 1/2 sacks, the Chargers made things downright miserable for McElroy, tying the team record for sacks in a 27-17 victory Sunday. ''...

Mark Sanchez jerseys have apparently hit the clearance rack (Picture)

Was Sunday the official start of the Greg McElroy era in New York? Chances are the New York Jets will pursue another option at starting quarterback when the offseason begins, which means there is also a good chance Mark Sanchez may have taken his last snap with the team. Otherwise, it would probably cost you more than $10 for his Jets jersey. As you can see from the photo above...

Norwegian kicker earns tryout with Jets after posting YouTube video

The New York Jets have a raging quarterback controversy on their hands. They have been juggling the trio of Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, and Tim Tebow all year long. However, they also seem to be concerned about their kicking game as well.Seen here is a Norwegian kicker named Havard Rugland doing some pretty amazing things with a pigskin. So amazing in fact that someone from the Jets...

Greg McElroy No Better Off Than Mark Sanchez If Jets’ Offensive Line Can’t Keep Him Standing

Much has been made about the Jets’ quarterback carousel over the past few weeks, but no amount of change under center will matter unless something changes along that offensive line. Rex Ryan finally made the move away from Mark Sanchez last week, after a five-turnover debacle all but ended his stay in New York. The Jets decided to instead go with second-year quarterback Greg McElroy...

Jets Fan Projectile Puking During 1st Quarter Of Chargers Game

It seems this guy might’ve had a skunked beer and an undercooked brat before Sunday’s Jets-Chargers game. Listen closely – one of the play-by-play crew members mentions it’s just the first quarter when Artie starts blowing projectile puke. It’s not like Artie would be puking over the Jets play in the first. The Jets had a 14-7 lead and even went to half at 14-10 over the...
