One of the marquee matchups this weekend will feature the 2-0 Atlanta Falcons visiting the 2-0 San Diego Chargers. However, fans that don’t attend the game in person in Southern California won’t be able to see the contest. The Chargers front office announced Thursday that the contest will be blacked out. The Chargers find themselves in a precarious position. The team is wanting the public to finance construction of a new stadium yet they seem to be losing the public relations battle with the fans. Over the course of the last few seasons, the team has let key free agents slip away. There is an anger at general manager A.J. Smith as well as head coach Norv Turner. The team has missed the playoffs each of the last two seasons and has really underachieved on the field under Turner’s guidance. It some point, you’d have to wonder if the ownership of the Chargers is really committed to staying in San Diego, or they are just putting their time in while waiting for a new stadium in Los Angel...

Chargers Week 3 Preview: Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, the Chargers will go head to head with the white hot Atlanta Falcons at Qualcomm Stadium. Both teams will be defending their undefeated records this season.  To come out of week three with a perfect record, the Chargers will need to get the run game going. The hopeful return of Ryan Mathews should be the solution to this. If Mathews does not return, the Chargers will...

Atlanta Falcons at San Diego Chargers: Ryan Will Outduel Rivers

This Sunday the Atlanta Falcons will travel to San Diego to face the San Diego Chargers. Both teams are 2-0 and are led by two premier quarterbacks in Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers. Both teams stand alone atop of the respective divisions and will look to add to their leads and go to 3-0 with a victory on Sunday. The Falcons are looking to build off their Monday night win against the...

Moore helps Falcons secondary make a big statement

Falcons safety William Moore is off to a great start this season. He has stepped forward to be the enforcer the Falcons' much-maligned secondary has been looking for under head coach Mike Smith. He set the tone against the Peyton Manning and the Broncos and will be called on to do the same against Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. In addition to the tone-setting...

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: Titans @ Chargers 9/16/2012

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly   Tennessee 10 @ San Diego 38   By Eric Judd   @ericjuddTSHQ     The Good Rosario. That’s spelled R-O- Dante Rosario. Dante Rosario might have earned himself the most money during week 2. Replacing, or even imitating Antonio Gates, has been the Holy Grail of Tight Ends. Not only was Rosario able to produce in place of Gates, he was able to produce...

Falcons-Chargers Preview

The Atlanta Falcons haven't been getting much out of their running game, but Michael Turner could still play a major role in the team's 2012 success. It's uncertain if Turner will be able to play at all against his former team following a recent arrest. Atlanta will try to win its sixth straight against the San Diego Chargers and stay unbeaten on the road in this series...

Michael Turner DUI: Fantasy Impact

How Long Will Owners Lose Michael Turner for? Michael Turner is the starting running back for the Atlanta Falcons, who was charged with DUI in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 18th, after the Falcons Monday Night win against the Denver Broncos. Reportedly, Turner did shots at a local strip club before leaving and driving home. He was about .02 over the legal limit. The...

Falcons Players Trash Former Coordinator

There were rumors early in the offseason that Atlanta coordinators Mike Mularkey and Brian VanGorder were told to start looking for employment outside of the Falcons organization around the end of the season.  Baseless or not, the rumors started spreading after the much hated New Orleans Saints came to Atlanta on Monday night and drubbed us 45-16.  Brian VanGorder either planned...

Denver Broncos: despite loss vs. Falcons, lots of positives to take from game

The Broncos lost 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night and turned the ball over four times in the first quarter, including three interceptions thrown by Peyton Manning on the Broncos' first three drives. It was an uneven game for Manning, which put the Broncos in a deep hole that they could never fully recover from to win the game. The Broncos would have a late rally...

The Blitz: Previewing Falcons/Chargers

This week on the Blitz I bring you my Atlanta Falcons vs San Diego Chargers preview. The Falcons head on the road this week to face a playoff hopeful Chargers squad. Both teams are 2-0, and neither team has shown too many signs of weakness. The Chargers really haven’t played anyone of note, while Atlanta notched a solid win a few days ago against the Broncos. All signs point...
