Philip Rivers can rest easy knowing that his offensive line will do anything and everything to keep him out of harm’s way.
In a play that was probably missed by most, as the Raiders-Chargers game didn’t kick off until 11:35 EST, San Diego’s D.J. Fluker pulled a wrestling move out of his bag of tricks. During the third quarter, Oakland linebacker Sio Moore attempted to blitz Moore, but Fluker ensured that didn’t happen.
Fluker got under the linebacker, lifted him off his feet and dropped him to the ground. The offensive lineman was flagged for a personal foul on the play, with the referee viewing the move as a body slam.

San Diego Chargers rookie tackle DJ Fluker was given a 10-yard personal foul penalty for bodyslamming Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Sio Moore in the third quarter of Sunday night's NFL game at the O.co Coliseum.
Moore was rushing the quarterback and tried to leap between Chargers linemen Fluker and Jeromey Clary, but got caught in mid air. That left Moore completely...
Today the San Diego Chargers claimed a guy off the waivers that will immediately help their pass rush. That player was Lawrence Guy. The 6-4, 318-pound Guy played the last season for the Colts, appearing in 11 games and recording 22 tackles and one sack. He played a significant role in Indianapolis’ win last week against […]
So that’s Chargers o-lineman DJ Fluker chokeslamming Raiders linebacker Sio Moore. That’s it.

Consistency is key
Was it me or was this a trip down memory lane, well maybe nightmare on elm street is more like it. Last night, Rivers showed us the side of him we all want to forget about, but somehow this type performance seems to always pop up just as the Chargers build some momentum.
It all started with a slow start, well the Charger engine never got going until late in the...
San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews suffered a concussion in Sunday night’s 27-17 loss to the Raiders in Oakland. The 25-year-old Mathews amassed a measly eight yards on three runs and got shelved after taking a knee to the helmet in the second quarter. Mathews will need to be medically cleared before returning to practice and he’s unlikely to compete next weekend when...
San Diego Chargers starting running back Ryan Mathews suffered a concussion last night in a loss to the Oakland Raiders. Mathews suffered the injury in the second quarter and did not return. Before leaving the game Mathews had three rushes for eight yards. Mathews will have to pass the league concussion tests this week before he gets cleared to play.Danny Woodhead and Ronnie...
The San Diego Chargers have been surprisingly a very competitive team this year while the Jacksonville Jaguars are dreadful. The Chargers dropped a game to the Oakland Raiders last night but in actuality are just seconds away from being a 4-1 team looking back at the first five games of the regular season. No one really saw that coming this year, except perhaps hardcore Chargers...
The Chargers have been a pleasant surprise this season; or should I say that Phillip Rivers has been. So when they took on the Oakland Raiders in the NFL Up All Night Game Sunday night there were few outside of Oakland that thought Al Davis's boys (and they will always be his) had a chance.Boy, were they wrong.
The Raiders played really well over all...
You resisted making the comparison because it had seemed too easy.
But then the little man in the Chargers uniform lined up in the slot and the defense made the decision to stick a linebacker on him and the little man ran past that linebacker and caught a perfect pass in stride in the end zone.
And you had no choice but to exclaim “Philip Rivers has his Sproles back!”
Former San Diego Chargers defensive back Paul Oliver died Sept. 25 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. That evening, Hall of Famer Harry Carson spoke at a WGBH event previewing PBS’ new Frontline film, League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis, which documents the NFL’s neglect on concussion issues over the last two decades.
Carson, a former New York Giants linebacker, linked...
In the latest game ever played in the NFL the Raiders got a division win against the Chargers. The game started at 11:35 EST. The Chargers never seemed to get into a rhythm as they lost this one 27-17. It was a physical game between heated rivals that didn’t end until after 2 a.m. on the east coast.
The Chargers looked bad from the beginning of the game. On the opening drive of...
WARMINSTER, Pa. -- Class of 2015 offensive lineman Jon Runyan Jr., who is committed to Michigan, was a key member in big comeback for Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep at Archbishop Wood, and afterward he spoke about the learning experience, his development and the Wolverines.
Now we know that DJ Fluker is a fan of WWF style moves. Last night he literally chokeslammed Raiders LB Sio Moore.
Someone get Jim Ross over this ASAP!

QB Rankings – Week Six
Philip Rivers continues his strong play and has made everyone eat crow for questioning whether or not his skill set had diminished and for questioning his young and talented trio of receivers following the Floyd injury. Rivers will keep the good times rolling against the Colts this week. Rivers is fourth is passing yards and tied for 2nd in the NFL with 13...
