It didn’t take tight end Fred Davis long to notice the Santana Moss affect at all. While running routes on the first series of the game against Seattle last Sunday, Davis – the Redskins’ leading pass-catcher this season – noticed that he had more room to work with. Davis had three catches for 53 yards and a touchdown on that opening series. He believes a lot of it has to do with Moss being back on the field for the first time in five weeks because of a broken hand. Read full article >>

Veteran Moss On Young Moss In New York

Click to view slideshow. Redskins receiver Santana Moss is synonymous with production and professionalism in Washington, where he has been a rock of stability over the last seven years. But in light of the upcoming game against the New York Jets, he reminisced on some of the mistakes that he made with the media in The Big Apple. “I came in young, went through something real rough...

Fred Davis pleased with his improved blocking prowess

Fred Davis appeared on his way to having a monster game on Sunday, recording three catches for 53 yards and a touchdown on the Washington Redskins’ game-opening scoring drive against the Seattle Seahawks. But from that point on, the tight end had only one more catch for five yards. Statistically, it may have appeared like a drop-off in production, but Davis will tell you he remained...

Moss weighs in on Stevie

Apparently four days after the fact people are still giving their opinion of what they thought of Stevie Johnson end zone celebration against the Jets. Washington WR Santana Moss was the latest to weigh in. Moss was asked on PFT Live for his thoughts on Johnson’s celebration. “Some guys, that’s a part of their game,” Moss said of Johnson on Thursday’s PFT Live. “They...

Santana Moss: “Rex is really our offense”

I’m hoping Florio doesn’t read this, because I’m about to give out a compliment. His interview with Santana Moss was one of the best ones in PFT Live history. Okay, that’s more of a compliment to Moss. The Redskins wideout was honest and engaging on a variety of topics, including his appreciation of Rex Grossman.…

Santana Moss on Stevie Johnson: “That’s something he’ll look back on and wish he hadn’t done”

Bills receiver Stevie Johnson had a big day on Sunday against Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.  But Johnson’s performance always will be remembered for a post-touchdown celebration that cost his team 15 yards of field position.  After a botched kickoff gave the Jets a short field, Johnson’s touchdown quickly was matched. The incident has prompted plenty…

Redskins' Fred Davis to address blocking

Fred Davis' best contributions to the Washington Redskins' offense usually occur in the passing game. The tight end's athleticism creates matchup problems for opposing defenses. His team-leading 53 catches and 697 receiving yards are proof. His run blocking, meanwhile, isn't always as productive. "I've got to be more consistent at ...

PFT Live 12/01: PFT Planet, Santana Moss

Mike Florio takes calls, tweets, and emails from PFT Planet. Fans want to know why Florio hates the Raiders and if A.J. Smith will leave if Norv Turner is fired. Santana Moss on Rex Grossman

After Rex Grossman got benched against the Eagles, he strongly advocated Grossman keep his starting job, saying “that’s not even something that should be asked,” and that Grossman “deserves to start.” Some fans thought that was just what any teammate would say about his starting QB, but it felt considerably stronger than that to me. As we heard from Santana Moss this week on PFT Live, Rex Grossman’s teammates have a lot of faith in their quarterback. Grossman, in turn, has a lot of faith in his teammates. He hasn’t given up hope on this Redskins season just yet. “You know, we’ve got about a 3, 4, 5 percent chance…

Three Things: Washington Redskins

So after last week’s squeaker the Jets head to Capital City to face the schizophrenic Redskins. Starting the season 3-1, Washington dropped six straight coming off the bye before finally getting a win last week. They might be all over the map in terms of consistency but they do have some talent. Let’s take a look at three of them. Roy Helu He may only have two good games but...
