Yahoo Sports is reporting that New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes has a Lisfranc injury to his left foot and will likely miss the remainder of the season. Holmes went down early in the fourth quarter after catching a four yard pass from Mark Sanchez. He was untouched when he went down as he flipped the ball to Carlos Rogers of the San Francisco 49ers, who subsequently returned it for a touchdown. Holmes' X-rays were negative, but his MRI was sent to foot specialists who then confirmed the Lisfranc injury. The Jets are already thin at the wideout position, so, this comes as another major blow to the Jets, who are already reeling with the loss of Darrelle Revis. A Lisfranc injury is an injury in which one or all of the metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus. Usually a recovery time from a Lisfranc injury is anywhere from 6 to 14 weeks.
