The New York Jets received a 34-0 beat down at the hands of the 49ers on Sunday, prompting head coach Rex Ryan to say, “We got our ass kicked. There’s no two ways, ins or outs about it.”

To add injury to insult, Santonio Holmes left the game after sustaining what appeared to be a knee injury while trying to make a cut. Holmes fell to the ground in pain, while giving up the ball for an eventual defensive touchdown by San Francisco.

Xrays on Holmes’ foot were negative, however, he is set to undergo an MRI to see if he sustained ligament damage.

Santonio Holmes expected to be out a few weeks

According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, it sounds like Jets head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t expect wide receiver Santonio Holmes to be a back for a few weeks after injuring his foot on Sunday. So until Holmes comes back, it looks like Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens will be the Jets’ starting receivers.  Good luck Rex.

MOURNING AFTER REPORT: Back to the Drawing Board

An all around awful performance by the Jets in a home shut out loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. There's no way around it. The Jets were outplayed, out-executed, out-hustled and out-coached by Jim Harbaugh's group. Too add injury to insult, the Jets lost their best offensive weapon, Santonio Holmes, to a non-contract knee injury  -- a play eerily resembling Darrelle...

Jets have no defense for ugly loss

On Friday, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan invoked the Super Bowl when he explained his decision to leave cornerback Darrelle Revis on the team's active roster, at least for the time being, despite Revis tearing his left ACL last week against Miami. Ryan is probably safe placing Revis on IR now, though, because after the way his team played in Sunday's 34-0 loss to the San...

The Morning After: San Francisco 49ers vs New York Jets (34-0)

Photo via AP/Bill Kostroun Santionio Holmes’ facial expression says it all. As a Jets fan, I’ve witnessed some brutal games, but Sunday’s 0-34 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was historic and epic and pathetic. I don’t know what can be said about Sunday’s game that I didn’t say last week.  However, I’ll give it a shot and hopefully won’t sound like a broken record...
