Jason WhitneyAndrew Luck is SBR Forum’s top rookie this year It has been the year of the rookie quarterback in the NFL, as there have been seven of them log any sort of meaningful time this year. We’ll rank all seven and make our NFL picks for which one of the pack is the best that the league has to offer. #7: Ryan Lindley – It’s not Lindley’s fault that he stinks. The team around him does, too. In three games, the former San Diego State star has five picks, no scores, and no chance of making himself a legit NFL starter. #6: Nick Foles – Foles has at least shown some promise, but in the end, he has yet to win a game as the Philly starter. He had a 7.2 QB Rating against Washington three weeks ago. #5: Ryan Tannehill – With 12 picks on the campaign, Tannehill is turning the ball over far too often. He also has four games this year completing 50% of his passes or less, and that just doesn’t cut it at this level. #4: Brandon Weeden – The Browns aren’t winning games, but they are staying competitive. Give Weeden a talented receiver, and perhaps he could be the second coming of QB Andy Dalton in the AFC North. #3: Russell Wilson – Wilson has the second most wins of all of the rookie quarterbacks this year, and he is finding ways to win games. There is no doubt that the confidence Head Coach Pete Carroll had in his team’s third round NFL Draft pick was worthwhile, as he has five straight games with multiple TD passes. #2: Robert Griffin III – The city of DC is all about RG3 right now, and he is going to break all of the rookie rushing records that QB Cam Newton set last year. He’s got a pretty darn good arm too, throwing for eight TDs in his last two games. #1: Andrew Luck – He’s already got 3,205 passing yards, including an NFL rookie record six 300+ yard passing games, and he already has the record for the most wins as a rookie starter. Yes, Andrew Luck was worth all of the hype, and after last week’s come from behind win on the road against the Lions, Luck also has his team headed towards the postseason.
