Matt Schaub's day started with a sack for a safety and ended with him getting X-rays on his aching left shoulder. In between, an illegal hit from linebacker Joe Mays sent both his helmet and a piece of his ear flying.
Despite the blood, bruises and bumps, Schaub said he felt pretty darn good.
He drew a bombardment of praise for his toughness from his teammates, his coaches...
With the Denver Broncos now off to a 1-2 to start, people have noticed that Peyton Manning isn’t getting the ball out of his hands the way he used too. In his defense though, he’s still rehabbing, so we know he’s not 100 percent healthy.
One NFL scout told Albert Breer of the NFL Network that “Peyton Manning can’t throw the ball anymore.”
I think that’s a little harsh...
Matt Schaub lost part of his ear last night during an illegal hit from Broncos line backer Joe Mays. Somehow Schaub only took off one play after the hit and he was right back in there to lead the Texans to a victory of the Broncos. I've seen the helmet fly off a few times in my day, but never a piece of someones ear. Nasty stuff right there.

Thanks to Cosby Swaeters, via Black Sports Online we got footage of Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub getting laid out during Sunday win over the Broncos. Not only did suffer a shot to the head, he lost a piece of his ear on the play.
Matt Schaub lost part of his ear during the Texans' win in Denver on Sunday, and the action isn't going unpunished. Broncos middle linebacker Joe Mays was the guilty party in the gruesome hit that saw Schaub's earlobe cut in half, and now he'll pay the price for his action. Mays will be suspended one game and fined $50,000 for the hit, the NFL announced Tuesday. Mays...
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has something in common in boxer Evander Holyfield.
Schaub lost a part of his ear in battle after a brutal helmet-to-helmet sack from the Denver Broncos Joe May left him prone on the field after the play was over.
When asked about the play after the game, Schaub who threw four touchdowns during the contest gave the Houston Chronicle a heads...
Maybe Peyton Manning should of stayed injured and retired. Not because he is playing bad currently, Manning Sunday versus the Houston Texans was 25/51 for 310 yards with 2 Tds and no picks. But maybe because Matt Schaub threw for four touchdowns and his Broncos defense is a steaming pile. Houston Texans are the real deal at 3-0, but Denver right now looks like an Arena League...

The NFL has just announced that they will be suspending Denver Broncos middle linebacker Joe Mays for one game due to a hit he delivered Sunday to Houston Texans‘ quarterback Matt Schaub. The hit left Schaub missing a portion of his earlobe.
Mays has apologized to Schaub twice and Schaub accepted, but apologies and accepted apologies are...
The NFL suspended Broncos linebacker Joe Mays for a bloodthirsty helmet-to-helmet hit that resulted in Texans quarterback Matt Schaub losing a piece of his ear lobe during Houston’s 31-25 victory on Sunday at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High … Continue reading →
TweetNo doubt Eli Manning has yet to reach his brother's status as one of the best quarterbacks ever. But this season may turn out to be the one where people think of the older Manning as Eli's brother, this Denver Broncos fan seems to be on the same wave length. I don't think it can be disputed that the New York Giants QB is more clutch than Peyton Manning ever was.
After opening against three stout defenses, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos seem to have a more favorable matchup in Week 4.
The Broncos' defense, however, might be short-handed, and that could lead to problems against an Oakland Raiders offense that appears to be finding its stride.
The Broncos try to avoid losing their third in a row Sunday in an AFC West showdown with...
The Houston Texans are off to the best start in team history, and coach Gary Kubiak is confident his club can extend that run if it gives a more complete effort and protects quarterback Matt Schaub.
Back home after two in a row on the road, Houston goes for a fourth consecutive victory Sunday when it faces the Tennessee Titans, who look to build on their first win of the season...
It's only three games in, but right now the Atlanta Falcons look as if they are as good as any team in the NFL.
With new offensive and defensive coordinators, their makeover appears a success as they improved to 3-0 on Sunday by putting a 27-3 thumping on San Diego, one of only six remaining unbeaten teams in the league.
Sunday had set up as a classic "letdown" game...
