ESPN's Adam Schefter has news on TE Rob Gronkowski's recovery from back surgery that should be music to Patriots fans ears:
"Buzz seems to be building the positive way. I haven't heard too many discouraging things. ... So far the buzz is positive."
Schefter, speaking on NFL Insiders, went on to say that Gronk's progress could enable the big tight end to avoid starting the season on the PUP list. This is big news, as it would make Tom Brady's favorite target eligible to start the season without missing any time. Any player who remains on the PUP list at the start of the season automatically must miss the season's first six weeks.
Of course, it's far too early to tell if Gronk will be back out there against his hometown Bills in Week One. However, the fact that it's looking like a legitimate possibility is a far cry from the widespread doom and gloom speculated June 18 when Gronk underwent his fifth surgery since November.

If the New England Patriots are to get off to a quick start in the 2013 regular season, it will probably get done on the back of a stout running game, and a physical defense.
