PLAYERS: Adam Schefter
ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes it’s becoming more likely that  former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will get selected in the top-10 of next month’s draft. “It looks more and more like he’s going to go in the top 10,” Schefter said. “… It’s difficult to say (exactly where he’ll go), but it’s not difficult to discern that Geno Smith is looking more and more like a top-ten pick.” Schefter mentioned all of the quarterback-needy teams drafting in the top ten: the Raiders (No. 3), Browns (6), Cardinals (7), and Bills (8). Even the Eagles at No. 4 have shown some pre-draft interest in Smith. Socuts I’ve spoken with believe it’s almost a given that Smith will go in the top five.  I believe the most likely landing spot is the Raiders, who have the third overall pick.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 :

Steelers reportedly made a run at Jake Long

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers tried to make a move to land left tackle Jake Long before he ended up signing with the Rams. I’m not sure where the Steelers would get the money to pay Long, since they’re only roughly $3 million over the cap right now.  But it was a great idea.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script...

Schefter: No one is signing Victor Cruz to an offer sheet

ESPN’s Adam Schefter strongly believes that not one NFL team is going to sign Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz to an offer sheet. Strong belief: There’s as much chance a team will sign Victor Cruz to offer sheet as there is one will deal for Tim Tebow. Neither happening — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 21, 2013 While I believe Cruz is one of the best overall receivers...

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that free agent WR Ted Ginn with sign a one-year deal with the Panthers. Ginn, 27, recently visited with the Bengals and Panthers, but a recent report indicated that he was mulling over an offer from Carolina, so it’s not all that surprising to see him reach an agreement with the Panthers. The tuck rule is gone; let’s remember its finest moment

The NFL owners voted to eliminate the infamous tuck rule, the rule that gave Tom Brady second life in his first playoff game. It was a bad rule, it will always be a bad rule if they decide to bring it back and every New England Patriots’ fan knows they got away with murder that day. It doesn’t mean we still didn’t love the tuck rule. It would be really easy for me to be a dick...
