If you have followed the Buccaneers the past few seasons, you would see why Josh Freeman is one of the most talked about player in pewter and red. So it’s only fitting head coach Greg Schiano would be asked about Tampa Bay’s young quarterback.  “Josh Freeman is our quarterback,” Schiano said today at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I believe with Josh Freeman we can accomplish our goals.” Of course he is not going to come out and say his quarterback is horrible and needs to be replaced. But in the same discussion, why replace Freeman? You don’t. And after evaluating the season, Schiano may honestly feel that way. However, even with his career season, fans still want him out as the Buccaneers’ quarterback. Problem is, there is no one out there to replace him with. Sure the team can make an attempt to trade for a more “proven” quarterback but it will cost them to do so. Schiano also mentioned competition today as he has in the past. He said “competition is healthy” and competition for Freeman was definitely not backup Dan Orlovsky. Schiano feels competition brings out the best in everyone so perhaps the Bucs will take a more aggressive approach at finding someone to push Josh Freeman It’s still early and plans can change. But for now, it seems Schiano may be sticking with Freeman. (Photo Credit: USA Today) The post Schiano: “Josh Freeman is our quarterback.” appeared first on The Bay Cave.

  • Tebow can be signed and should be. If you want Freeman to start -fine. You must prepare for when he can't. Lets not go into a new season saying coulda - woulda. Its too late then.
  • How can other teams in the NFL get winning QBs right out of college and the Bucs are going to stay the course with someone who has yet to show winning consistency?
  • Sign Tebow NOW
  • Fans want him out??? not all of us
