Scott Hanson hints at possible RedZone for NFL training camp

Ask and you shall receive … maybe. Hopefully? One fan made a request on Twitter for NFL Network to start covering training camp, similar to how it handles the NFL RedZone on Sundays during the regular season. It may actually be happening.

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson responded to the tweet with an interesting comment. And it has many believing that the network has something in the works.

“Funny you should request that …,” Hanson responded.

That’s an interesting idea, especially with so little happening in the sports world at this time of year. Although, we’d have to imagine productivity across the country would dip significantly, right?

Even though there’s no score being kept — it’s only practice, after all — people are starving for football at this point in the calendar. Live sessions of training camp would be incredibly popular on television.

Hanson didn’t provide any further context and did not elaborate on NFL Network’s potential plans. So, we’ll just have to wait and see if something is in the works.

Might as well give it a shot, right?

Joe Burrow suffers injury during NFL training camp

If a RedZone for NFL training camp did exist, it probably would have captured a scary moment involving Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow suffered an injury during Thursday’s training camp practice. He had to be carted off the field — never a good sign at any point in the year.

Following practice, head coach Zac Taylor said Burrow sustained a calf injury. However, he could not provide further details at the time. A timetable for the quarterback’s return remains unknown.

However, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase seems to think Burrow will be just fine. He told The Athletic why he’s so optimistic that the quarterback will be back on the field soon.

“We always give each other that nod,” Chase said, per The Athletic. “He gave me a nod to say he’s all right. He’s a strong dude. I wasn’t really worried. I believe he’s all right.”

Maybe that comment will ease Bengals fans’ minds. Or maybe it won’t.

But Chase knows Burrow better than just about anyone, especially on the field. Maybe this is a good sign for the Bengals.

Hopefully the injury to Burrow isn’t serious and he’ll be back in time for the start of the regular season. Although it does seem likely that he’ll be sidelined for at least a good portion of training camp and potentially the preseason.
