Former Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli made an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio and said that the trade that will reportedly send quarterback Alex Smith from the 49ers to the Chiefs, may not be complete yet. “The one thing I have heard talking to some good sources is this thing has not been completely finalized yet,” Pioli said, per ProFootballTalk.com. “I think they are still working through some of the absolute details of what the compensation is. Because I think what happens in these trades, if you give up a pick for something or if you’re going to give up two picks, what’s been a new trend in the NFL is people generally kick picks back. Because teams don’t like to see their, even if they are going to give up a higher pick they want to get something later in the draft so they at least have a volume of picks to have more opportunities.” Pioli is right in one sense, the trade isn’t done yet because both sides have to wait until March 12th for e...

Quinn, 30, eventually took over for Matt Cassel near the mid-point of the 2012 season. He threw for 1141 yards...

If Alex Smith waited to see where his next destination would be for a starting QB job, he was finally given a chance after waiting patiently before he checked out of San Francisco, boarded a flight and landed in Kansas City.
