Seahawks defensive tackle Jason Jones is doubtful to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with an ankle injury.
Jones has been unable to practice all week after suffering the injury against the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night. If he's unable to play, rookie Greg Scruggs will pick up the additional workload for Seattle.
Receiver Doug Baldwin (ankle) and cornerback Byron Maxwell (hamstring) have been ruled out. Guard John Moffitt is listed as questionable with a knee injury but isn't expected to start even if he's able to play. Source: Seattle Post Intelligencer Attached Thumbnails

Seattle Seahawks versus Detroit Lions could come down to Optimus Prime vs. Megatron
Man, it already feels like it’s been forever since the Seahawks last played. Sure it’s been less than a week, but that doesn’t stop it from feeling like a long time. Part of that feeling is most likely due to a desire to leave the last game the Seahawks played. I’m not saying that the Seahawks didn’t play well last Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers. All I...
Seahawks Impressed With OG James Carpenter's Play After Knee Injury
Pro Football Weekly hears the Seahawks are quite pleased with the surprisingly strong play of former first-round draft pick James Carpenter at left guard since returning from a knee injury that most close observers thought would take him longer to recover from. Whats been so big is how much hes been able to stay on the field, one daily team observer said. Marshawn Lynch...
Seattle's limited passing game tough to judge
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer For all the scrutiny that rookie quarterback Russell Wilson has received as the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback, the limited number of times he's thrown has made it difficult to fully assess how the first seven weeks of his career have gone.
Ultimately, Seattle is 4-3 heading into Sunday's game at Detroit and...

Since he will be matched up with Calvin Johnson (a/k/a Megatron) on Sunday, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman changed his Twitter handle to "Optimus Prime."
Seattle Seahawks: Hidden Jewels in the Emerald City
I must admit, I didn't have high expectations for the Seattle Seahawks entering the 2012 NFL season. The Seahawks were one of three also-rans (Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams are the other two teams) in the NFC West, which I thought would be the worst division in the league. The San Francisco 49ers (13-3 in 2011) would easily have their way with the rest of the teams and...
Five Seattle Seahawks who must impress vs. Lions on Sunday
On the road again
The Seattle Seahawks are on the road this week, taking on the Detroit Lions. Both teams are reeling from painful losses to division opponents last week and each is looking to make some moves in their respective divisions.
With lots on the line for both teams, this could be a very physical game – especially with the highlighted matchup between Richard Sherman and...
NFL Rumors: Did Richard Sherman Wake A Sleeping Giant In Calvin Johnson With Transformers Remark?
Richard Sherman talks a big game. He did it against Tom Brady. He will do it with any player. Sherman and his Seattle Seahawks secondary has been stellar in 2012, and they will look to continue their run against another once vaunted pass offense in the Detroit Lions.
But Sherman may have done something that is ill advised.
He may have woken a sleeping giant.
Well, not a real giant...
Game Preview: Seahawks at Lions
Seven games into the season, and the Seahawks (4-3) next opponent is the Detroit Lions (2-4). The Seahawks have started off the season fairly well, and are looking to improve on what they have started. The Lions on the other hand have started the season off on the other side of the grid.
The Lions are averaging 406.3 yards a game(306.7 passing and 99.7 rushing), where the Seahawks...
Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions: Week 8 NFL Pick
Seattle Seahawks (4-3) at Detroit Lions (2-4) I feel like I say this about the Seahawks every week when I pick their game, but I love picking their games because they have such a big home/road disparity. On the road, they are 16-29 ATS since 2007, as opposed to 30-14 ATS at home. As dogs, [...]
Week 8: Seahawks at Lions (Game Thread)
The Seahawks will be playing their fifth road game of the season today against the Lions. Will Richard Sherman and the rest of the secondary be able to contain Calvin Johnson and Brandon Pettigrew? Can Wilson and his receivers put up some points against a suspect Lions secondary? Does Detroit have enough healthy defenders left on the roster to put eleven guys on the field?
