The Seahawks are hoping K.J. Wright will be back by this weekend after he suffered a concussion int he first quarter on Sunday, and they're still not sure when cornerback Walter Thurmond will be activated.
The Seahawks have another week to activate Thurmond, the deadline coming next Monday.
According to the league guidelines, a team has 21 days after a player on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list begins practicing to activate him. Thurmond did not actually begin practicing the first week he was eligible to as that was the shortened week before the 49ers game. His first practice was Oct. 22, meaning Seattle has until next Monday to activate Thurmond, who is recovering after suffering a broken fibula twice in the span of six months. GIF: Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice completes pass on trick play
This was a great play that was drawn up, and pretty much everyone on the defense bit on the wide receiver screen. The execution was even more impressive and while it wasn’t the greatest throw of all-time, Seahawks TE Zach Miller made a hell of a catch off the pass from Sidney Rice. It’s just a shame that this one didn’t go for six, otherwise it would be the play of the day.Via: SB Nation
Charly Martin Released By Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have announced Tuesday that wide receiver Charly Martin has been released.
Martin had only four catches for 42 yards this season. He primarily played on special teams. With a spot open on the roster in mind, note that cornerback Walter Thurmond has been back in practice the last two weeks after being on the PUP list. Thurmond broke his left leg last October...
Russell Wilson, Seahawks: First impressions Week 9
Russell Wilson, Seahawks impressing
Russell Wilson continues to impress me.
Russell Wilson gives Seattle mobility.
Before: My next piece will address the “after” effect on the Seahawks’ NFC standing.
Going into Seattle’s Week 9 home game against the Minnesota Vikings, the above image was NFL.com’s playoff projection as if the regular season ended prior to...
Seattle will be the team that starts Tebow Mania in New York
When the Seattle Seahawks are at home they are almost impossible to beat, because those fans and players realize they play extremely well at home. Russell Wilson looks like a probowler when he plays at home as well. Russell Wilson completed 16-of-24 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns versus the Vikings in Week 9. Wilson found Golden Tate for scores for six and 11 yards and...
Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks: Five Things We Learned
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch set the standard for what is known as "beast mode".What it means is that a runner is running with such ferocity and power, that the very Earth trembles beneath it every time they carry the ball.I chose those words on purpose, because for me the first time I saw Lynch go "beast mode" was in a Wild Card playoff game following...
The Seahawks' Coverage Problems versus the Lions
[Note: This article was supposed to go up late last week, but due to other concerns it had to go unfinished until now. But while the subject matter is a bit past tense, if nothing else I figured it’d serve as a nice frame of reference when I take a look at the game tape for the Vikings game.]
The Seahawks’ pass coverage against the Lions was ugly, and looking at it on...
Bryant, Hill are game-time decisions
Run-stuffing defensive end Red Bryant and linebacker Leroy Hill will both be game-time decisions for the Seattle Seahawks entering Sunday's big NFC matchup at Chicago.
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Bryant was held out of practice for a third straight day with a foot injury. Hill went through a workout to test his sore ankle, but how the injury responds will determine if...
Week 9 - Seahawks Win! (R-Rated Thread)
Adrian Peterson is a hell of a running back (losing K.J. Wright early hurt the run defense in a big way), but it's hard to win games when your quarterback only manages to throw for 62 yards.
More importantly, the Seahawks offense was able to overcome some bad drops early on and move the chains when it needed to most, thanks in large part to a good performance by Russell Wilson...
Seahawks Release WR Charly Martin
Seattle released receiver Charly Martin on Tuesday, the second consecutive week the Seahawks made a roster move. Martin made the team in training camp, a testament to how well he played in August. He has been active in four games this season, playing the slot specialist. He caught four passes for 42 yards.
Martin was essentially Doug Baldwin's backup as the slot specialist...
Seahawks MMQB: Defense? Seattle is an offense town!
Growin’ up before our eyes
Boxscore | Play-by-Play | Q’s Post Game Recap
Last week the offense played well enough to win, but the defense gave the game away. This week the offense held the ball for 1o minutes and 53 seconds of the fourth quarter, including the final 5:27, where they converted on two 4th downs, to put the game away.
In all fairness, the defense tightened up...
Seahawks WR Braylon Edwards Among Week 9's Inactives
Seattle announced its inactive players, and there were no surprises. One note, cornerback Walter Thurmond has not been activated, which means Seattle will have to decide on Monday, Nov. 5, whether to add him to the roster, place him on injured reserve or release him.
Here is their complete list of inactives: G James Carpenter, WR Braylon Edwards, S Winston Guy, DT Jaye Howard,...
Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate flips for a touchdown (Video)
It appears that Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate is putting together a solid game against the Minnesota Vikings as he already have two touchdowns.

Charly Martin Released
Earlier today, the Seahawks released wide receiver Charly Martin. It's presumed that the move was made in order to make room for cornerback Walter Thurmond, but Thurmond still hasn't been officially activated off of the physically unable to play list.
As much as I like the idea of having Thurmond available again, I'm a bit torn about cutting Martin. He isn'...
Lynch, Wilson help Seahawks race past Vikings
SEATTLE -- The feet of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Marshawn Lynch were enough to overcome those of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Wilson's scrambling and Lynch's rumbling helped Seattle take a 30-20 win over the Vikings on a clear and unseasonably warm afternoon Sunday at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks (5-4) snapped a...
Seattle Seahawks Run Over Vikings, Cardinals Drop Fifth Straight
Seattle returned home to end a two-game losing streak, while the Cardinals once promising season continues to slip away.
