RENTON -- Receiver Mike Williams underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his lower leg. He has been placed on injured reserve, and will miss the remainder of the season.The Seahawks signed cornerback Phillip Adams to take his place on the 53-man roster. Adams was acquired in case Kennard Cox is limited this week. Cox is a cornerback who could not finish Sunday's game because of a sore hamstring.Adams is in his second year in the NFL, coming out of South Carolina State.Cox has been a special-teams mainstay for the Seahawks this season after filling a similar role last year. In fact, he was signed in Week 2 after Seattle gave up two special-teams returns for touchdowns at San Francisco in Week 1.
