Seattle Times:
The Seahawks made a roster move, releasing veteran fullback Justin Griffith and signing tackle Kyle Williams from the practice squad to the roster.
The short-term effect, Seattle provides itself some depth along the injury-ravaged offensive line with Williams, who started at tackle late last season and was playing some guard during training camp. Brandon Frye and Rob Sims are both considered virtual certainties to play, however, Frye has a sore groin, Sims a strained oblique. Sims was Seattle's emergency tackle last week until he got hurt. Now, Williams could fill in as well.
The long-term effect is a question, but nobody should jump to the conclusion that Griffith won't be back. He just may not have been ready to play this week. He could very well be re-signed next week. The team certainly will need a second fullback down the road, and Griffith -- the starting fullback on opening day -- could very well be back on the team next week.
