The Seattle Seahawks are getting prepared for their week 8 match-up against the Detroit Lions  and Richard Sherman is already going in.   Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who doesn’t shy away from controversy, changed his name on Twitter this week to “Optimus Prime.”  If you recall, in “Transformers,”  Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots who are on the good guy side of things.  Optimus Prime’s arch-nemesis is Megatron, the leader of the notoriously bad Decepticons. It just so happens that Richard Sherman will be matched up against Detroit Lions’ wide receiver Calvin Johnson in week 8, who has held the nickname Megatron since his rookie season.  Shots fired! Richard Sherman talks a big game. He did it against Tom Brady. He will do it with any player. Lions week 7 review: Defense steps up while offense goes missing

Futile, this is the word I use to describe the Lions offense as the defense was the only aspect to only show up at Solider Field Monday Night. The Lions gave off that same ol’ Lions feel that Detroit fans know all to well with Detroit suffering a 13-7 whooping at the hands of the Bears. Chicago manhandled Detroit from the first snap as Stafford hit Calvin Johnson on a 7 yard curl...

Week 8, The Picks 2012

THE SPOP Last Week: 7-4-2  /  Overall: 41-54-4  /  Best Bets: 7-7 Tampa Bay @ Minnesota -6.5 The Bucs might have left it all out on the field last week against the Saints.  The Vikings are chugging right along like nobody thought they would and should win by a touchdown.
