Seattle Seahawks OT Russell Okung has certainly come into his own this season, earning him a starting spot for the NFC in this year's Pro Bowl. "This is a chance to see him grow and develop through the whole thing," offensive coordinator Tom Cable told Danny O'Neil on the Seattle Times. "Then to stay healthy, you have to do that. His progression has been right where you hoped it would be." The big Nigerian from Houston has allowed only one sack this season, according to STATS Inc, and he's been up against some pretty big names. "Did you see what he did to 99 last week?" fullback Michael Robinson asked, referring to the 49ers' Aldon Smith, who was held without a sack in the game, only the fifth time this season. Picked 6th overall in 2010, Pete Carroll's first selection, Okung is all they thought him to be after showing promise in two previous injury marred seasons. "The fact that Russell has been healthy through the whole season, that's helped Russell," Robinson said. "It was never anything athletic or anything as far as his power or even experience. It was always, 'Just be healthy, and when you're healthy, you'll be top-notch.' " The modest Okung, who doesn't like to answer too many questions about himself, spoke about what it means to be one of five Seahawks selected to the Pro Bowl. "It speaks volumes about the team and what we've been trying to put together," Okung said.
