Found April 25, 2012 on Pro Football Zone:
Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider was on 950 AM in Seattle (via the NewsTribune.com) and indicated that he wouldn’t want to move a Pro Bowl player like Kam Chancellor to linebacker. “We usually try not to move Pro Bowl players to different positions,” said Schneider. Even though Schneider doesn’t want to move Chancellor doesn’t mean they wouldn’t draft Alabama safety Mark Barron if he’s available. “We’ve discussed every option and opportunity at great length, so we’ve already cleared our way through that decision,” said Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. “You obviously can do it for the first 12 picks, and as you get farther down along, things change. At this position early in the draft and in the first round here, we’re going to get through every one of them, and we won’t be surprised by the opportunity that is presented.”

Seattle Seahawks select Bruce Irvin, Grade F

Can I give a grade lower than F? The Seattle Seahawks front office is nothing short of clueless when it comes to evaluating prospects. James Carpenter was a disaster of a 1st-round pick in 2011, and yet they found a way to top it here. Bruce Irvin can be a terror as a pass rusher, but he’s very raw and is not a three-down lineman at this stage in his career. Throw the character...

Seatle Seahawks Draft Needs

In a perfect world things are easy. Even in a not so perfect world, some things come along and the decision is simple. But when it comes to the NFL Draft things are far from easy or simple. And with the 12th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks select……..? As I sit and ponder at the team needs for Seattle it comes to no surprise that it is difficult to figure out...

Seattle Seahawks: 10 Best Draft Picks in History

The Seattle Seahawks have probably taken more than their fair share of lumps during the course of their uneven 36-year existence.  The inconsistency that seems to be a hallmark of the Seahawks throughout their history is no better represented than in the results of their drafting through the years.  There are certainly plenty of busts; from Dan McGuire to Rick Mirer, there have...

2012 NFL Draft: Seahawks Select

The Seattle Seahawks traded out of the twelve spot with the Eagles. At fifteen, they select Bruce Irvan, linebacker from West Virginia. Irvan is an explosive player who should add some playmaking ability tp Pete Carroll’s defense.

NFL Draft: New England to send both of their #1 picks to Seattle for the 12th spot?

A pair of day one trades could be in the making. The New England Patriots have two number one picks this year at numbers 27 and 31. The word is that they could be packaging those picks together to trade places with the Seahawks who are now in the number 12 slot. Please click the link below to read the rest of this story.

Seattle holds 12th pick, but looks for late value

While the Seattle Seahawks hold the No. 12 pick in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night, one thing general manager John Schneider has shown in his first two seasons as Seattle's draft guru is his ability to find players in the later rounds. Whether it was safety Kam Chancellor, cornerback Richard Sherman or linebacker K.J. Wright, some of Seattle's biggest...

The Calm Before the Storm

At five o'clock today, John Schneider and Pete Carroll will begin their third draft together.  Well, not precisely at five, since holding the twelfth overall pick means the Seahawks probably won’t go on the clock until six thirty or so, but you know what I mean. And at this point, that’s the sum total of what everyone without access to Seattle’s draft room knows for...

Draft Needs: Seattle Seahawks

Matt Peterson tracks the offseason needs of every team in the league. Today’s franchise, the Seattle Seahawks [full archive here]. Season Recap: I’m a fan of Head Coach Pete Carroll. He took an untalented team to the playoffs his first season and led an inspired group to some upset (Giants, Ravens, Eagles, Bears) victories in year two, while staying competitive in many of the...

'Hawks Should Draft Moore in Late Round

SEATTLE - OK, here I go again stepping out of my league, but I really think the Seattle Seahawks should give serious thought to taking Prosser’s Kellen Moore with one of their late picks in Thursday's NFL draft. Why not give the in-state kid a try? I think they may have taken Jake Locker last year if he had been available but he was long gone by the time of their first pick came up.

2012 NFL Draft; Seahawks Select A Trade

With the twelveth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Seattle acquires the Eagles first, fourth and sixth round picks. The  Eagles moved up three spots to acquire Missippi State defensive tackle Fletcher ox. The Eagle need to shore up their run defense.

Report: Patriots have spoken with the Seahawks about the 12th pick

According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, the New England Patriots have spoken to the Seattle Seahawks about potentially trading up for the 12th overall pick. Right now we’re not sure if the Patriots are looking to just gather information or actually trying to make a deal for the 12th pick. But if they’re serious about moving up to the 12 spot, I would think they ‘re...

With the 12th pick in the 2012 NFL draft the Seahawks select…

Water Cooler Draft Chat Friday AM The 2012 NFL draft  seems to be chalk full of intrigue. Maybe not as much as any other year, but for the Seattle Seahawks in general, this may be the first time where there isn’t any certainty when it comes to drafting a particular position. In draft years past we have headed into the first round knowing there were certain positions that needed...

Seahawks’ Barrett Ruud recovering from three injuries

The Seattle Seahawks brought in linebacker Barrett Ruud this offseason to replace David Hawthorne who departed in free agency.  But according to head coach Pete Carroll he’s still recovering from knee, shoulder and groin injuries. “We’ve got him healthy first,” said Carroll. “He’s not healthy yet.” Ruud played in only nine games for the Titans in 2011, before being...
