Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 16 Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 16 predictions The Seattle Seahawks are on fire! They have scored 50+ points in two straight games – amazing. But that said it hasn’t translated into a whole lotta Fantasy love unless you were one of the brave souls that started Russell Wilson last week! In Week 16 the Hawks face one of the best defenses in the NFL – the San Francisco 49ers come to town off an impressive Week 15 win at Foxboro against a Patriots team that simply doesn’t lose in December or at home for that matter. It will definitely be a tough game for Seattle this week on both sides of the ball but the motivation of catching San Francisco in the standings and locking up a playoff berth should propel this team to yet another quality outing. So which Seahawks are worthy of a start for your Fantasy squad this week – let’s take a look. Seahawks Fantasy Forecast for Week 15: QB Russell Wilson 30 yards rushing, 225 yards passing, 2 TDs Wilson has been a monster as of late – three rushing scores and another one passing last week represented his best Fantasy outing as a pro. But that was against the Bills – this week he faces a juggernaut San Francisco team that he threw for 122 yards against in their first meeting. Tom Brady had all sorts of success against the vaunted 49ers defense last week so I think Wilson has a slightly above average week again this week. He has conquered every challenge thrust his way recently and with confidence to spare I see another good game for Russell Wilson. Am I starting him in my Fantasy Playoff final? Nope! Am I considering him as a sleeper in next year’s draft? Absolutely! RB Marshawn Lynch 100 yards rushing, 1 TD, 1 catch 10 yards Marshawn Lynch went for 103 yards against SF in Week 7 and the offense around him is light years ahead of where they were at that time. While you can’t expect a monster game against San Francisco’s insane defense, 100+ yards and a score is certainly appropriate to expect. He is a must-start as always. WR Sidney Rice 4 catches, 75 yards, 1 TD Sidney Rice has been battling a foot injury and this week he faces a secondary in which he had just two catches for 32 yards in Week 7. I expect Rice to get open however – Wilson will continue to look his way often as his most reliable pass catcher. I don’t love him as a Fantasy start this week except in deep leagues. If you own the Seattle defense you have to ride them this week too. He is a WR3/4 with a bit of upside in your Fantasy final. WR Golden Tate 3 catches, 50 yards Golden Tate was totally shut out in the first meeting between the two teams but he and the Seattle passing game is much better than they were in Week 7. He remains too risky for Fantasy purposes but this is the type of game that he could shine. TE Zach Miller 3 catches, 40 yards 1 TD Miller was also shut out in the first meeting between the two clubs but he has scored in two straight games. Zach Miller is becoming a Red Zone threat and although his yardage numbers will likely be disappointing, I like him to score again this week. He is not Fantasy worthy just yet but he has shown that he does have the trust of Mr. Wilson. PK Steven Hauschka 1 FG 2 XP Defense / Special Teams 300 yards, 2 sacks, 1 Int. 1 FF If you own the Seattle defense you have to ride them this week too. They have been spectacular this season! Although Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco offense is creating matchup nightmares each and every game, I think Seattle creates a few turnovers with the aid of the 12th man. This unit is a legitimate Fantasy start once again – let’s hope the crowd can take Kaepernick and company out of their game plan Sunday! Week 16 power ranks: Seattle Seahawks push towards playoffs; up the rankings with big road win

The Seattle Seahawks have made the biggest jump on our power rankings this week rising from 13 to 7 and it isn’t hard to see why. Their 108 points over the past two weeks are about the biggest statement a team can make at this time of the season and it comes as they are in the heat of a playoff race for both the NFC wildcard and the division crown. Depending on their seeding Seattle...

Why Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson should be Rookie of the Year

They told him he couldn’t play QB  in the NFL, after all he was too short to look over his offensive lineman. When Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson declared for the draft it didn’t matter what his film showed, he was often cast aside by scouts and front offices because of his size. It would be generous to call Russell Wilson 5″11, yet he comes out and proves every week and...

Seahawks will go Mayan on the 49ers Sunday…if the following happens.

The Hawks playoff hopes are at stake. This is it. The upstart Seahawks have erupted and shocked the NFL this season, led by Rookie of The Year candidate and American hero Russell Wilson. Here are the keys to arguably the Seahawks biggest game of the season. If Wilson Brings his A+ Game Russell Wilson has been the catalyst for the Seahawks surprising success this season. Wilson...

Revenge of the Fail Mary

We all knew it would come to this, right? We didn’t want to believe it but, deep down inside, we knew better. We all knew that one of the many bungled calls made by those replacement refs, who simultaneously entertained and enraged us the first three weeks of the 2012 season, would come back to haunt us. It’s almost divine providence that their most infamous call could, if the...

Morning Links 12-22-12

The NFL’s Most Valuable Player is… Russell Wilson?   Apologies in advance for jumping the gun on naming a 2012 NFL MVP.  I realize that there are still two weeks left in the regular season, but I had time to write this post today, so to hell with the NFL’s 17 week schedule!http://fantasydouche.com/2012/12/the-nfls-most-valuable-player-is-russell-wilson/?utm_source...

Colin Kaepernick & Russell Wilson battle weather for the NFC West

No, you did not predict this in week 1. Facing off in a highly anticipated NFC West rivalry game, both the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks have a lot on the line Sunday night. A win for the 49ers and they will go on to clinch their second consecutive division title. A win for the Seahawks clinches their spot in the playoff and also leaves the NFC West title up for grabs...

Russell Wilson's Place in (Rookie) History

With the announcement that Russell Wilson’s game jersey has been added to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s collection after he became “the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to finish a game with at least one touchdown pass, three rushing touchdowns, and 90 yards rushing,” in the Seahawks’ 50-17 win over the Bills last Sunday, I thought it might be fun to take a quick...

Seattle Seahawks who have impressed since the Miami loss

Seattle Stand-outs! Let me preface this by saying that this is not a list of the Seahawks players who have been the most valuable to the team during the three game winning streak. It is however, a list of the 5 top players who have played above the level that I expected from them. Russell Wilson #3 Sunday’s win against the Buffalo Bills marked the 15th game this young man has...

NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills Sick Of Playing Home Games In Canada?

The Buffalo Bills continue to make their annual pilgrimage to the Great White North to play at least one official home game in Toronto, Canada per NFL season, but that does not mean that all of the players are on board. In fact, at least one Bills player is getting sick of this tradition. Buffalo offensive lineman Eric Wood would like to play all eight home games in Ralph Wilson...

Seattle Seahawks' First Playoff Game

I’m going to be pretty peeved if the world ends before I get a chance to see the Seahawks and 49ers rematch on Sunday. The Mayan apocalypse can wait until after we see what is shaping up to be one of the best games of the season. The implications of the game are huge; if the 49ers win the game, they claim the NFC west … if the Seahawks win, there’s still a chance that they’ll...

Moments in time…The Seattle Seahawks week that was

Another blow out! Two wins on the road for our Seahawks, quite a nice little surprise if you ask me. Now though, our fate is not in our hands for the divisional race, thanks to the New England Patriots letting us down on Sunday night. Yep, even when we beat San Francisco this coming Sunday night, the Seahawks faithful will have to rely on the lowly Arizona Cardinals to get a win...

Game Ticket Preview: 49ers vs Seahawks

The last time the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks met, it was an ugly defensive battle that the 49ers narrowly took away as a win, 13-6. This time around, the 49ers (as seen last week versus the Patriots) will bring a much more dynamic offense to the table with second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick, while equally impressive rookie quarterback Russell Wilson will try to...

A brief geography lesson

Ever since the site joined Yardbarker, we have been graced by increased readership, and a more vibrant comment section. What we haven’t quite found yet is a bastion of well informed, articulate commentary. Sure, there are some diamonds in there, and I love those, because I don’t mind debate or being corrected if I am mistaken. I do truly enjoy the unhinged, nonsensical comments...

Week 16 NFL Games to Watch

With no Monday Night Football game this week, there will be the most amount of games on a single Sunday for the NFL season to date.  This Sunday is a great day to have the DIRECTV NFL package, as there are 15 games slated for Sunday. Game of the Week: The last game of the weekend should be spectacular as Sunday Night Football pits the 9-5 Seattle Seahawks and the 10-3-1 San Francisco...

49ers-Seahawks Preview

The San Francisco 49ers need one win to clinch their second straight NFC West title. Getting that done this week will mean doing something no other team has this season - winning in Seattle. The 49ers' top-ranked scoring defense could be in for a major test Sunday night when the high-scoring Seahawks will try to clinch their second playoff berth in three seasons and stay in...
