Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 16 Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 16 predictions The Seattle Seahawks are on fire! They have scored 50+ points in two straight games – amazing. But that said it hasn’t translated into a whole lotta Fantasy love unless you were one of the brave souls that started Russell Wilson last week! In Week 16 the Hawks face one of the best defenses in the NFL – the San Francisco 49ers come to town off an impressive Week 15 win at Foxboro against a Patriots team that simply doesn’t lose in December or at home for that matter. It will definitely be a tough game for Seattle this week on both sides of the ball but the motivation of catching San Francisco in the standings and locking up a playoff berth should propel this team to yet another quality outing. So which Seahawks are worthy of a start for your Fantasy squad this week – let’s take a look. Seahawks Fantasy Forecast for Week 15: QB Russell Wilson 30 yards rushing, 225 yards passing, 2 TDs Wilson has been a monster as of late – three rushing scores and another one passing last week represented his best Fantasy outing as a pro. But that was against the Bills – this week he faces a juggernaut San Francisco team that he threw for 122 yards against in their first meeting. Tom Brady had all sorts of success against the vaunted 49ers defense last week so I think Wilson has a slightly above average week again this week. He has conquered every challenge thrust his way recently and with confidence to spare I see another good game for Russell Wilson. Am I starting him in my Fantasy Playoff final? Nope! Am I considering him as a sleeper in next year’s draft? Absolutely! RB Marshawn Lynch 100 yards rushing, 1 TD, 1 catch 10 yards Marshawn Lynch went for 103 yards against SF in Week 7 and the offense around him is light years ahead of where they were at that time. While you can’t expect a monster game against San Francisco’s insane defense, 100+ yards and a score is certainly appropriate to expect. He is a must-start as always. WR Sidney Rice 4 catches, 75 yards, 1 TD Sidney Rice has been battling a foot injury and this week he faces a secondary in which he had just two catches for 32 yards in Week 7. I expect Rice to get open however – Wilson will continue to look his way often as his most reliable pass catcher. I don’t love him as a Fantasy start this week except in deep leagues. If you own the Seattle defense you have to ride them this week too. He is a WR3/4 with a bit of upside in your Fantasy final. WR Golden Tate 3 catches, 50 yards Golden Tate was totally shut out in the first meeting between the two teams but he and the Seattle passing game is much better than they were in Week 7. He remains too risky for Fantasy purposes but this is the type of game that he could shine. TE Zach Miller 3 catches, 40 yards 1 TD Miller was also shut out in the first meeting between the two clubs but he has scored in two straight games. Zach Miller is becoming a Red Zone threat and although his yardage numbers will likely be disappointing, I like him to score again this week. He is not Fantasy worthy just yet but he has shown that he does have the trust of Mr. Wilson. PK Steven Hauschka 1 FG 2 XP Defense / Special Teams 300 yards, 2 sacks, 1 Int. 1 FF If you own the Seattle defense you have to ride them this week too. They have been spectacular this season! Although Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco offense is creating matchup nightmares each and every game, I think Seattle creates a few turnovers with the aid of the 12th man. This unit is a legitimate Fantasy start once again – let’s hope the crowd can take Kaepernick and company out of their game plan Sunday!
