Seahawks Fantasy Start + Sit vs. Rams
For some of you, the Fantasy Football season is over – congrats to you winners and better luck next year to those who didn’t win the money.
For some others, Week 17 represents the culminating week – the time when everything is on the line.
For those of you depending on some Seattle Seahawks last week, you are probably left wondering what happened. The scorching Cardinals are what happened, as no Seahawk had a good game Fantasy-wise except for the always-stud defense.
So who can you trust this week — the last week of the Regular Season for your Fantasy squad? Let’s take a look.
QB Russell Wilson
20 yards rushing, 175 yards passing, 1 TD
Russell Wilson had good stretch toward the middle of the season, but his numbers have fallen off drastically. The team is averaging just 176 yards passing the last three games – nearly 60 yards fewer than it was averaging through the first 12 games of the season.
My thought is that he stays around his average for the last three weeks – unspectacular to say the least. Who knows, there is a chance he only plays half the game if all goes as planned.
Simply put, Wilson’s recent numbers are too sketchy to trust in the world of Fantasy. If you started him during his hot streak, congrats. But he is best left on benches at moment.
RB Marshawn Lynch
70 yards rushing, 1 TD, 2 catches, 25 yards
Expect a modest performance out of Doug Baldwin in Week 17. (Photo: Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images)
Lynch hasn’t played like a first rounder as of late, and this year, despite some production, he has not lived up to expectation – just three 100-plus-yard games this year after 11 in 2012 (he hasn’t eclipsed 100 yards in his last five). He went for only 23 yards in the first meeting between the teams, but I like him to pass that this week.
Expect moderate yardage against St. Louis’ quality defense and a TD (he has 11 on the year) along the way. He may be utilized in the passing game as well this week, which helps.
Lynch is a start in any format; just don’t be too disappointed if he doesn’t single-handedly win you the week!
WR Doug Baldwin
5 catches, 60 yards
Because Wilson has been ineffective in fantasy, the receivers aren’t worth using either. I project moderate yardage for Doug Baldwin this week – much better than last week, but not enough to win you a championship.
He may be worth a risk in DEEEEP leagues, but is probably best left on fantasy benches. Baldwin is a better fantasy option than Golden Tate.
WR Golden Tate
5 catches, 60 yards
I am not expecting much at all from the passing game, but if you are a riverboat gambler, Tate may be worth a shot.
TE Zach Miller
4 catches, 30 yards
This is about average for Zach Miller.
2 FG, 3 XP
10 points, 300 yards, 3 sacks, 2 Int.
The Seattle defense has nine interceptions in the last two games – NINE! And they have given up just four rushing TDs all season long. It is going to be a long day for Kellen Clemens and gang as it was in the first meeting.
Seattle’s defense has been one of the best Fantasy units every week this season – no reason to think differently about the regular season finale in Seattle Sunday.
The defense will dominate and hope the offense does its part.
Start with confidence and congratulations if you drafted or picked up the Hawks defense!

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin has played in just one game and netted one reception for 17 yards this season. Seattle doesn’t have to make that decision until next week, but it appears Harvin’s...

A 17-10 loss to the Cardinals at CenturyLink Field was the first home loss in Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s career and his 108 passing yards was also career low. The Seattle Seahawks take on the St. Louis Rams and this time around the Seahawks have to do a better job keeping the Rams from hitting Russell Wilson. In the first match up between these 2 teams, it looked as though the Rams were trying to kill Wilson. The game was a defensive struggle and the Seahawks managed to find a way to win. This week you have to wonder if the Seahawks are...

The Seattle Seahawks are considered the favorite by many to make it to the Super Bowl this season, and with the way these guys fly around the ball that comes as no surprise.
