Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 5 Fantasy Football - Seattle Seahawks Week 5 predictions The Seattle Seahawks squeaked out another win on the road last week in Houston, and it doesn`t get a whole lot easier this week when they head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. In the standings, Seattle has been absolutely elite this season — success that has not exactly translated to the world of Fantasy Football. Nobody except for Marshawn Lynch paid their owners off last week — let`s see who may guide you to victory this week. QB Russell Wilson 50 yards rushing, 225 yards passing, 1 TD Russell Wilson had a down game last week when he comiled 123 yards passing. His ability to run the ball saved his Fantasy day somewhat — 77 yards on the ground. This week I see more of the same: okay passing numbers with good rushing totals. He has just five TDs this year with six turnovers and looks like a risky Fantasy start once again. He is not recommended this week, although there should be some points scored on Sunday. RB Marshawn Lynch 95 yards rushing, 1 TD 2 catches 10 yards Lynch was the best Seahawk last week by a mile and should continue that trend this week. Expect another solid showing out of Marshawn Lynch against the Colts. The problem is that he has yet to crack the century mark — unbelievable. He had 98 yards on the ground last week and a score to go along with 45 yards receiving — good Fantasy numbers. He will be the center piece again this week and threaten the 100-yard mark with a TD. Lynch is that top -0 back you drafted this week. Start as always! WR Sidney Rice 4 catches 60 yards Let’s be clear: The passing game isn’t the focus of this team at all — no one receiver has emerged as a Fantasy starter. Forecasting their production is a total crap-shoot. I think Sidney Rice is the best of the receiver bunch this week, but he still not recommended for Fantasy purposes. WR Golden Tate 4 catches 50 yards Tate hasn’t done much lately — somehow he just hasn’t caught the eye of Mr. Wilson. Doug Baldwin seems to be stealing some of his looks as well. For those reasons, Rice not recommended this week. TE Zach Miller 2 catches 35 yards Zach Miller had only one catch for seven yards last week and has fallen back to the Fantasy irrelevance category. He is usually good for 2-3 catches per week and 20-45 yards. This week I project him at the bottom of that scale. PK Steven Hauschka 1 FG 2 XP Defense / Special Teams 375 yards, 3 sacks, 1 Int., 1 FF The Hawks’ D is simply elite, but may have a rough go against Andrew Luck and crew this week. This unit gave up 355 yards to Matt Schaub last week and let Arian Foster have his way. But this team has a knack of getting it done at the right time! The issue is that Andrew Luck is an absolute STUD and he doesn’t make mistakes! You still have to start the Seahawks’ defense this week — just temper your expectations a bit! Seattle Seahawks Week 5 preview

The Seattle Seahawks (4-0) take on the Indianapolis Colts (3-1) at Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday. Kickoff starts at 1 P.M. on FOX. This game deserves a primetime television slot, as the two teams have been absolutely dominant thus far. It’s almost mind boggling how well-matched these two teams are. There’s only about 20 yards separating total yards per game (352 for Seattle and...

Dramatic win has Seattle Seahawks soaring high

Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch (Photo credit: ESPN) The Seattle Seahawks’ 23-20 overtime victory against the Houston Texans in Reliant Stadium last Sunday was an exciting comeback. Don’t get me wrong, Seattle’s Week 4 win at Houston was not pretty. But a win is a win, and a comeback from down 20-3 at halftime versus a tough Texans defense is a particularly noteworthy win...

Seahawks sneak a quick one today on the Niners, by claiming B.J. Daniels off waivers

Today the Seattle Seahawks  and Pete Carroll beat the Niners again.  The Niners released B.J. Daniels who they loved and drafted this year in the 7th round.  They picked up John Skelton and were hoping that Daniels would clear the waivers, but today the Seahawks claimed him. The former USF Bulls will now serve as […]

Luck, Wilson headline Seahawks-Colts game

Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson left college together, were drafted in the same class, made the playoffs as rookies and wound up going to the Pro Bowl together. On Sunday, for the first time, the 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year runners-up to Robert Griffin III will finally get their first chance to match wits on the football field. ''It's going to be a fun game. It...

Preview: Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks vs. Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts

The Quarterbacks We already saw Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson take on fellow rookies Ryan Tannehill and Robert Griffin III last season, but we’ve yet to see him clash with Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck, the number one overall pick from that already famous 2012 NFL Draft.  This Sunday, though, that’s all going to change. When the Seahawks travel to Indianapolis...

Wilson, Luck smart but different quarterbacks

Doug Baldwin does not want to be in the middle of this debate. On one side is his guy from college, Andrew Luck, whom Baldwin believes will one day be recognized as one of the all-time great quarterbacks. On the other is the guy delivering passes to Baldwin now, Russell Wilson, who is enjoying just as much success as Luck, both in their second NFL seasons. Two great QBs, two decidedly...

Adorable 3-Year-Old Kalee Buetow Knows Entire Seattle Seahawks Roster

With the Seattle Seahawks being undefeated and looking as if they are Super Bowl-bound there are plenty of bandwagon fans popping out of the woodwork, but not Kalee Buetow. This adorable 3-year-old knows the entire Seahawks roster, not just Russell Wilson, but even backup safety Chris Maragos and offensive line coach Tom Cable. She doesn’t just know the players, she knows that...

Seattle Seahawks: Why Russ Is Who We Trust

When our number three begins his cadence under center, players listen and linemen keep their head on a swivel.  By his word alone, the ball is snapped and the undersized ball of fire drops back in the pocket like a wind-up toy loading his springs.  Then, as if by accident, his dynamic attributes of being able to be a threatening quarterback in the air and on the ground are tested...

Seattle Seahawks at Indianapolis Colts: 2013 Week 5 NFL Pick

Seattle Seahawks (4-0) at Indianapolis Colts (3-1) Ordinarily, the Seahawks struggle on the road, in addition to dominating at home. Since 2007, they are 17-37 SU and 22-31 ATS on the road, as opposed to 34-18 SU and 35-16 ATS at home. However, they are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games on the road, including wins in Carolina and Houston this season. Those games were close, but they...

Moments in time…The Seattle Seahawks week that was

Everything is bigger in Texas And that includes comebacks. Man, I honestly think that was the best Seahawks game I have ever seen in my life. Plus, it kind of put to sleep all of the rumors that this team can’t play on the road, or doesn’t have the moxie to be a Super Bowl contender. Yes it was an awful offensive display from the Seahawks for three quarters of this football...

Fantasy Island: Quarterly Review

(image courtesy of blowoutcards.com) So, 1/4 of the season is gone and here are some things we’ve learned so far; - The  shelf life of a premier RB is fleeting. Arian Foster was a beast the last few years but this year I find myself needing to bench him and have looked to deal him in a few leagues. More and more teams are going with a 2 headed system ( in this case , Tate and...

Which unit stood out in the Seahawks’ triumph over Houston?

A Defining Moment for This Seattle Team If there was a moment where all hope may have been lost for this young Seattle Seahawks team, it would have been last Sunday. The game time, the venue, the injury report and the opponent all boded disaster for the Seahawks entering the match up with the Houston Texans. The offense has yet to truly find its rhythm, and then the top three offensive...

Seahawks-Colts Preview

Andrew Luck was tabbed as a can't-miss prospect coming out of college before the Indianapolis Colts selected him No. 1 overall in the 2012 draft. Seventy-four picks later, the Seattle Seahawks used a third-round selection on Russell Wilson, who had plenty of critics wondering if his smaller stature would prevent him from succeeding in the NFL. No matter their paths to NFL stardom...
